Shady Maple Restaurant was the largest eating establishment I have ever been to. The food was good with many, many choices. The night we were there steak was the specialty with a grill where they would cook to order. Our favorites were the fried chicken, potato rolls, and Amish cheese. The desserts were fabulous with many choices once again. There... More

In the past years I have been to plain and fancy, good and plenty and other places to eat! My friend who grew up in this area told me we were going to eat at Shady Maple and come HUNGRY. I showed up starving the food was AMAZING such a HUGE VARIETY all of it tasted so good. If you... More

We have eaten at several smorgasbord restaurants in the Lancaster area, this one is by far the best. The selection is unreal! The vegetables tasted like they had just come from the garden that morning. Everything we tasted was delicious. We bought and brought home several of the homemade Amish breads that were for sale in the lobby for 1/2... More

Go there everytime I visit the area, which is once or twice per year. Also try to get there at least once for breakfast and once for dinner on each visit. Have never had lunch there. I will basically talk about the dinners. Every night they have another type specialty, Monday through Saturday. Depending on the day of the week... More

Over the years we have enjoyed going to Shady Maple, but the last couple of visits have shown the quality in food is going down. We dined on stale blueberry bread, steak too tough to cut, and chicken thighs or legs, where is the white meat? It is a huge buffet, but the selection was sparse and every time I... More

Oh my ! Over time we've gone to a lot of Lancaster smorgasbords, but we like this the best. We usually go on Seafood Night (Tuesday), which is how we originally fell in love with the place. This time we happened to go on Thursday (Rib night), and liked that even better. Details: this is not in the center of... More

Wonderful food, great staff and clean comfy homey experience. While visiting here you will need to walk off your food so make a trip to the home goods store and the Super market not that you want to look at more food but the way it is set up the store is fantastic. Any kind of food a great bulk... More

It is the best buffet EVER. We go eat there everytime we go there. Food is always fresh, delicious and quick to sit down even when there is a huge crowd. This place is always full of customers. Love it!!

We ate at the Shady Maple on an evening when prime rib was featured. We were seated quickly, and oriented as to the procedures. Then we made straight to the salad bar. Everything we saw was very fresh and attractive. What we took was delicious! There was a great selection of meats including prime rib of beef (nicely carved to... More
