Best food in the area

Very good food, and surely the best in the area. Slightly goofy service you have to be patient with. BYO and I didn't and it was still worth it.

We went there to celebrate our anniversary. This was our 3rd visit and not disappointed. We decided to sit outdoors as it was a beautiful evening with wonderful views, although the table next to us was rather loud, the food was freshly prepared, the server friendly and attentive. Can be pricey, but worth it for a well prepared meal. Everything... More

While driving east for a family event, we overnighted in Donegal, Pa to tour 2 nearby Frank Lloyd Wright homes tomorrow morning. We reviewed nearby restaurants in Trip Advisor since we have never been here before. Chose this one based on mostly good reviews. It's better than the reviews suggest. We travel frequently in the U.S. and Caribbean. Easily among... More

Service is friendly. Coffee is excellent. Food is good to decent - some dishes better than others. It is byob! My only complaint is that it is vastly overpriced. NYC or Tokyo restaurant prices for typical fare. Its nice to have real food along the highway, but its not affordable.

We went here for my mother's birthday. The flooring is made of old reclaimed barn wood and huge windows have an amazing view. The menu was definitely more upscale than what you can find in the area. The kids menu includes salmon and asparagus!! Unique and seasonal and FRESH ingredients! It is a BYOB (with a 3.00 corkage fee per... More

What a wonderful surprise to find real fine dining in a rather rural area like Donegal. I read the Trip Advisor Reviews before this trip and also asked at the Holiday Inn Express where I stayed. The hotel quickly said, if you are looking for fine dining don't miss the Out of the Fire Café....very consistent with what I had... More

We arrived for our outside table reservation on time, but they could not sit us outside. We sat at a picture window-not bad. The surprise appetizer was a 3 inch cut piece of watermelon broiled with cheese, cherries. olives and rich green cold pressed olive oil-sounds crazy but get it and you will be converted. I ordered the 10 ounce... More

We made reservations to dine at Out of the Fire Cafe to celebrate my sister's birthday. The menu was interesting and it had some good reviews. Unfortunately it was the worst dining experience we had during our trip. Our appetizer was quite good (the smoked salmon) and made us anticipate a wonderful dinner. The only part of the meal that... If only every experience could be that great. Great place. A little out of the way. Worth a 20 minute drive though. Service was great. Very informing of the specials and the fact that the potato salad was just made so it wouldn't be cold....Food was amazing. Jeffs special sandwich and the the sweet potato fries were so good! Will... Totally by chance, we seem to have found the best restaurant in the area. They are well known for their house smoked salmon, and rightfully so. although three different sauces are too much and overwhelm the salmon. The mushroom soup is also excellent. We had the duck breast and the smoked pork chop, both of which were nicely cooked. My... More
