Could use a facelift...

This establishment is a landmark - some folks swear by it but it has never been one of my local favorites. It's past `dated` and needs a serious facelift. Start with the Coffee Shop and move quickly to the main dinning room - I'm sure this well known family was made enough money over the years... read more

Attended a concert here. The food was OK, nothing great. the staff was efficient, in fact they were right there to pick up your plates & your glasses. However, there was no water on the tables. Water was &1.00 a bottle & if you wanted a glass you had to go to the bar. When I ask for a glass... More

Visited Saturday night. Looked busy but the dining room had 6 couples. Had very dated, dark decor from 60's or 70's. Non matching chairs. Light above table with panel falling out. Booths missing fabric buttons. Picture of random family member in frame staring at me. No families. Everyone older than 60. Large cobweb next to where my daughter was sitting.... More

We've been going to this restaurant for the past 8 years when we visit the area on our annual drag racing trip. Very nice place to have a good, quiet meal. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (directly behind the restaurant) and got coupons for Buy 1 Get 1 Free drinks and for $2.50 off an entree and free... More

My wife and I have been going to the Lamplighter since we moved here 5 years ago. Service is friendly and very attentive to there customers. Any food not to the liking of the customer is cheerfully either replaced or taken off the bill. Its a friendly place and you just cant beat it for value and taste. We highly... More

I have had many different menu items..French onion soup is a disappointment but chicken noodle is great. They have good salads, bread, pies are great. It is somewhat dated but...takes you back to an older age. I find it clean and the wait staff. very friendly. It is a classic diner. The prices also reflect years gone by......very economical...My group... More

Liver & onions done perfectly, and lots of it. Hubby said his steak cooked perfectly, too; but service very slow because chef overcooked first steak and had to cook new one. (Waitress told us that was why it was taking so long. So at least all of our food came out together, and we weren't served food that had to... More

I cannot, for the life of me, understand how this place got 4 stars. First, I'll start with the place. We were there on a Thu night, and the place is divided in 2. A 'Nice, Upscale' area (in quotes, because the decor looked like it hasn't changed in 40 years), and a 'cafe' area that looked like a Waffle... More

To avoid any confusion, the name of this place is actually The Lamplighter Coffee Shop. It is attached to a semi-fine dining restaurant at the same location. Take it from a fat guy who "lives to eat" instead of "eats to live" that this place is the comfort food capital of the world! It has all of the classic diner... More
