Interesting building

Had dinner here. Food was good but nothing special. It was reasonably priced. This historic building is under new ownership and will be undergoing major renovations. Looking forward to seeing that so I guess we will go back. Would not wipe it off the list.

Stopped in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is historic with a stamped ceiling and lots of dark wood. The dining area was not very large and fairly rustic. The service was friendly and attentive. There was a good selection of different foods from steak to mahi mahi. The meals on paper sounded amazing. The actual meal was... More

There's a wide array of beers and an extensive menu. My husband's steak was excellent. My chicken Francaise was not so great. The atmosphere is that of a local restaurant with no frills. Go here for bar food and you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I eat often at the Crittenden. We love it and have now made it a weekly practice. The blackened catfish, the Jamaican jerk catfish, chicken pot pie, lasagna , pulled pork, are all 4 star. We have enjoyed it all. As for the atmosphere, we love it. It goes with the building. ( Yes, silk flowers can... More

We ate here over the Labor Day weekend. My husband had the beer braised kielbasa and kraut and he really enjoyed it. However, I had beer battered fish and fries and was very disappointed. I left most of the fish as it had some of the skin still on under the batter and it seemed to be frozen fish that... More

Hello, Thank you for your recent trip to our hotel over labor day. In response to your review, we are glad your husband enjoyed his meal. As for your fish fry, we do apologize and perhaps we should better inform our customers that our fish does have the skin on it. We find that some people like it and some... More

Known locally as the "Critt" we had a business meal here. I really cannot give this old, small town hotel restaurant a positive spin on its decor. That being said, it's the food that will make or brake your business. The food was average. It was not horrible by any means, it just was "average". For an old town hotel/... More

Thank you for your review. We have recently (March 2014) purchased this old hotel to save it from possibly being closed for good. We do agree the decor needs help, but there were far greater concerns when we first took over, such as fixing the water and getting heat back into the building. We will be working to update the... Old hotel restaurant in small town. Dining are dated but nice looking stamped metal ceiling. Service a little slow but very pleasant. Ordered specials, not typical small town fare - blackened catfish and chicken empanadas. Empanadas were very good, catfish was tasty. French fries were only OK. Green bean crisp, not overcooked, but a bit greasy. Overall a better experience... More

Thanks for your review and the message response. We do realize our decor is a bit dated, but it has taken a back seat to many of the other problems we have faced with a 123 year old building that has fallen into disrepair. We will pay closer attention to our sides, but we are glad you enjoyed the mains!... More

Our food was good but the atmosphere could use updating even if it is in an old historic building. Fake silk flowers did not impress me. Our food was good but not outstanding. If I came to town again, I would try somewhere else. If there was nothing else open to try, I would come back. It just didn't impress... More

Thank you for your review. We are just getting the restaurant back open and people were desperate for somewhere new to eat. The decor and updating took a back seat to what the public wanted. We did do some renovations in the front area before opening, but we do realize there is a lot of work ahead of us. As... More
