Recent visit was renewal of good food at reasonable prices. No pretenses from this neighborhood spot. Waitress and staff were friendly. Menu was quite adequate for finding food to enjoy prepared in a very tasteful way.

Dining in my communit has gotten quite boring, so my partner and I decided to try a new restaurant for us; The Gypsy Saloon. we chose salads and appetizers. Sara had the Grilled Romaine salad. Sara immediately shared one of her shrimp and my mouth exploded with flavor! Perfectly cooked and perfectly flavored. This demonstrated the attention to detail that... More

I stopped here for a few beers on a recent trip to this area. Gypsy Saloon has an average size bar with eighteen bar stools. They have twelve craft beers on tap. The beers are a bit overpriced. I didn’t eat here so cannot comment on the food. The employees were unfriendly. This bar did not have a friendly environment... More

If possible I prefer to eat in non chain restaurants. Gypsy is a quaint place with good service and good food. I only had the appetizers , onion soup and dessert but it was very good. If I understood correctly it is the sister restaurant of Stella Blu right down the road which is very good as well. Our plan... More

Great ambiance, service, and food. Portions are large. Calamari and flat breads are great apps! The lobster mac is a must try, one of the best I've ever tasted. Some great craft brews on draft that are ever changing. Heather is a great bartender! The only thing I miss is the nicoise salad, it was my favorite. Love this place!

From the Stella Blu owner, Gypsy is also a good spot for lunch or dinner. It won't knock your socks off, but the food is consistent and good. Outdoor seating can be nice in the right weather, but inside can be drafty in the winter.

My wife picked this one because she heard that the winner of the US Open in Merion had his celebratory dinner there. Cozy atmosphere, wonderful food and lots of interesting beer on tap. We went early (6:30) and it was quiet. I understand it cranks up later. Most entrees were around $20 with good portions.

My earlier doubts about service were only reinforced when we went back for a second visit. The waitress was wandering about the half filled dining area. The busboy tried to clear my crab fries appetizer when there were still plenty of fries on the plate. The down side to this trip, though, was that the food was a big disappointment.... More

It can get loud here but that is the result of the friendly vibe that permeates the place. The mussels are a must try for appetizers and the seafood and steaks are great. Service seem to be a bit hurried so we'll reserve judgment on that until our next visit.
