Holiday dinner with work colleagues and spouses...conshy was a good meeting point and Totaro was rated number 1 byob, so we decided to give it a try...menu is huge, so anyone can find something, and they’ll create something if you ask...we were in the small...room up front and it does get loud, but that’s because people are enjoying themselves and having fun...service is very attentive...for apps we shared two kinds of mussels (special, fra Diablo style was great, sherry/leek style was very good), antipasto board and they made the arugula salad with burrata family style for the table...entrees ranged from a rigatoni dish to lobster ravioli to various iterations of veal and shrimp with homemade pasta...I had veal Vivian (veal, spinach, lamb crab, mozzarella over homemade pasta with a white wine cream sauce)...veal was so tender I didn’t need a knife...great dish, could’ve used just a little salt...best part was mopping up,the sauce with the great bread they serve...can’t eat like that every night, but I’m glad I did last night...tiramisu, pumpkin cheesecake, cannolis, chocolate cake and an apple pie we’re all polished off for dessert...overall, I thought Totaro’s was very good and we’ll be back...if I had to compare it to a place with similar food, I think it is almost, but not quite as good as Domani Star/Sorella in Doylestown...bill came to $480 for 8 people - very reasonable for the portions, the quality and the service.More
