Service was prompt and attentive. Food was good and the price was in line with other diners in the area.

While passing through Columbia recently we stopped into Hinkle's Pharmacy on the recommendation of our friend, Mod Betty for some lunch at the counter. It looks like the place hasn't changed in sixty years (which isn't a bad thing). Although the prices have gone up a touch, the menu selections were what you would expect from the good old days.... We read about Hinkle's in the local paper, so when we were in Columbia we decided to go to Hinkle's. We were absolutely surprised by a restaurant in a working pharmacy and then to top it off the food was very good and the service was great. We are definitely going back.

Understand that when you go to Hinkle's it is less about the fru-fru and more about tradition and friendliness. Don't be in a hurry. You step back in time about 50 years. The prices are great and the food is good. We visited here after touring the Turkey Hill Experience just up the street. The kids enjoyed sitting at the... More

We ate here on our vacation to Lancaster and it was such a great experience. First of all it's pretty cool to tell people back home that you had lunch at a pharmacy. I felt like I was back in time eating at a small town diner. Then the food came and my husbands eyes widened when he took a... More

My granddaughter and I had brunch here the first Sunday in May. We got there at the right time as it was 11:10 am and the church crowd came not long after. We are counter girls so we got a seat right away. Very friendly waitress, two old gents at the counter and the cashier. Plus, a few other people... More

Had another great lunch at Hinkles. The menu is expansive and unique....had the deviled egg sandwhich, picked beets and chowchow. Simply outstanding, few other places offer this sort of food. The service speedy and friendly. A step back in time. Highly recommended

When we visit this part of PA, we always try to get to Hinkle's for breakfast. They have daily specials and a pretty extensive menu when you remember that it is actually a pharmacy. Prices take you back in time as well since they are extremely reasonable. Try the potato cakes! Love those! Service is very friendly, a little slow... More

Seems to be the meeting place for locals and everyone knows your name or face. Great breakfasts and very reasonably priced. Stand in line to get a booth or take a seat at the counter and you won't be sorry. Sandwiches, soups and meals are all served with good service. Try a grilled Shifter sandwich and you won't be sorry.... More
