Very popular place with unusually good all american food. Good service. In the middle of tourist country.
We used to visit this place many times in the past. The restaurant was recently sold to someone else. We used to enjoy the roast beef sandwiches - some how it changed, not very good. We will not return.
I had the most delicious beef stew over rice dish. I know it sounds kind of plain, but it was so good that I ordered another meal to take back to the hotel for later. I Entered and Stepped back into History. I was alone so I sat at the bar. The room was Very Relaxing and I could even check the game on TV. The Huge Fireplace, Antique Windows and Fixtures set the ambiance. It was easy to imagine images from long ago, of folks that have stopped in for a rest, a meal... More
We have been coming to the Tavern for six years on a regular basis and have never had a poor meal or bad experience. The Tavern has relatively new owners and they have maintained the excellence of the food. Stepping into the Tavern is like stepping into history.
Located right on U.S. 1 , easily accessible, this 2 star restaurant offers great convenience , good food and very reasonable prices.
My wife just never liked this place (now called the chadd's ford pub), but I convinced her to give it another try since we heard it was under new mgt. The "pub" has gone from avg. to poor. 1st, our shrimp le jon was rubbery (i'm told this happens when you microwave shrimp). 2nd, I ordered bourbon & gingerale, not... More
