Headed to Longwood Gardens with our family. Looking for a place for a late lunch. We were kinda winging it as we drove. Passed this place and looked inviting. Walking in it had a nice warm feel to in. We sat in the bar area (its was football Sunday) nice big bar with plenty of booth seating. Waitress was very... More

We went to the Chadds Ford Tavern some years ago for both lunch and dinner. It was quite good. I wish I could say of our experience this past weekend. With the exception of the good service from the front of the house and the wait staff, the rest of the meal was a major disappointment. Chadds Ford Tavern is... More

Went there with my wife last night to try out the new place under new owners and I wasn't impressed. Started off with the calamari and marina sauce. The calamari had a heavy dark breaking that was nothing more than Mrs. Paul's and the marina was more like a canned spaghetti sauce, not a marina sauce. We then shared a... More

Being from out of the area and being close to Philly figured I "had" to order a Philly Cheese Steak. Big mistake. Absolutely the worst sandwich I ever had. When it arrived four minutes after I ordered I knew I was in trouble. It was basically inedible-a sad PC of microwaved precooked beef. The nice bartender Mike knew I had... More

We are from the area and had high hopes that the revitalized, newly openedTavern would be a place we could visit often. But ..........unless you go for drinks and appetizers (bar area is nice and upbeat) don't bother. The menu is very limited, confusing (off the board???) and what is on it isn't good. I will say that we enjoyed... More

Recently went to the Chadds Ford tavern and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. There is an old, rustic charm which is evident as you enter. The new owners kept much of the old decor and "trappings" but cleaned them up. The woodwork is old, scarred, crooked and delightful. They even have an old fashioned hammered tin ceiling. It is reminiscent of... More

Visited with friends after Brandywine Museum visit. recently reopened location. We did not had a reservation and yet they friendly accomodated 14 people. The location has three main dining areas. We sat near the fire place in the bar area. Dim lighting, to allow better view of the 4 large screen sports TV screens. Service taking was fairly fast, yet... More

OK, we heard from friends and neighbors the Tavern was finally reopening and we were very excited to see what they had done with the food and ambiance. We went to the back where the dining area is and it looked the same and nice enough. The place seemed pretty clean and good for a tavern. We noticed from the... More

Glad to see the Tavern open. Has been closed for too long. New management is really trying to do something different. The menu was limited but the food was good. We had the scallop app and the scallop was really good. Well cooked and tasted very good. We tried the roast beef, not a real fan. We spoke with the... More
