Pub in every sense of the word

Market Cross is definitely the place to go if you want the feel of a more traditional English pub. The food is pretty decent and they have a nice selection of beers. We came in as a party of 14 and they were able to accommodate us on the short notice. The food was amazing and the service was great. If we are in the area again we will be sure to stop in again. Also heard they have a Monday night Trivia.

Is a regular place to meet friends for a brew and good basic pub food, especially if you are looking for "Shepards pie" or wings or several other traditional English style dishes. Not where you want to go for gourmet dishes, but reliable and ( I imagine) authentic pub food.

We were slightly disappointed after choosing Market Cross over a competitor. Beer selection was seemed nice. Service and food on the low side of standard. Our waitress only checked on us once and never did bring water or napkins as requested. We would have tried more beers, but our waitress only came back when she brought the check. The cherry... Had a very positive experience here. Brought 18 students from Japan for dinner and everything when smoothly. We called ahead to reserve space, ordered and food came out very fast. The students enjoyed everything. A lovely experience and I recommend the beer battered onion rings. They really tasted like beer, good beer.

Really nice, down to earth place to grab a bite. Went here with a family of 4 for dinner and felt right at home. Loved their IPA from the tap and the cask. Portions were big . Food was above average. Wish I lived closer I would go all the time.

The restaurant is good for families and the wait staff is excellent. Plus, it is great for beer enthusiasts. On the negative side, the food is not overly impressive if one orders anything other than standard pub fare -- e.g. the burgers seem better than the other items on the menu. Besides improving the freshness and presentation of the food... More

My husband and I live in Mechanicsburg, but we dine in Carlisle often. This is definitely our favorite place in town! I have never had a disappointing meal, everything is always delicious! I love their Duchess of the Sea (crab cake) and the menu is reasonably priced. Great place to go with friends, or for a date night.

I love the beers at the Pub. The passport system makes trying all the pints even more fun. Every time I eat here, I always want the food to blow my mind but it is average at best. Feels very micro-waved. Staff is quick and weekend bar keeps are informed and can talk beer. The brews that the Pub make... More

Although Market Cross hasn't changed much since its opening, it remains a decent place to grab some pub food and good beer. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the ever-changing beer selection keeps things fun.
