A local winner. Our waitstaff ( a Big Spring Alumni) was well versed and helpful in advising beer selections even to offering a sample to help the decision process. Steak with butter sauce and fries with a variety of sauces -one which was spiced -were supurb. Mussels prepared a variety of ways good, but ask if they are "good this... More

What a great little place we stumbled upon coming from the Pittsburgh Steelers game on our way home. We had the steak frites and they were perfect. My steak was cooked to perfection and the butter sauce on top made it even better. They double cook their frites so they were a little crisp for my taste, but the meal... More

Went early on new years eve. Seated and waited on promptly. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. HUGE beer list - all $$. We had 2 diff types - very good. We had the rabbit and the beef stew. Excellent. If you get a meal stay away from the french fry sales pitch - too much. Fine with burgers or sandwiches but... More

My wife and I usually go to Frederick for New Year's Eve for an early afternoon lunch, some window shopping, and a movie. This time, on a whim, we took it to Carlisle, and ended up at Café Bruges. It was an unexpected surprise. We started off with some of the best fries (frites) we had ever eaten. My wife... More

Great, quiet lunch spot with fantastic food and unique beer. Service was excellent. It's an upscale pub atmosphere. Hope to have reason to be in Carlisle again to make this stop.

Cute atmosphere; salad looked like one you would get in a roadside diner. Pommes frites are fried in beef tallow which some find delicious. We did not like the way the smell of the fat stuck to our clothes for the rest of our weekend visit in Carlisle. Service was surly. Food was distinctly average to poor.

On a business visit to the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, I dined twice at the Cafe Bruges. Having enjoyed a few meals at the restaurants in Brussels, Belgium that inspired this one, I was anxious to see how well they could recreate both the environment and the cuisine. Success! I almost forgot that I was in Pennsylvania.... The... More

Love the beers here, the cheese plate and the beet salad. The pomme frites are always excellent, I like the curry ketchup, different and delicious! The burger here is top notch! The beers are really different and wonderful! Overall one of our favorite places in Carlisle!
