Despite living nearby, I hadn't gotten around to checking out Cafe Bruges for some time. While the fries are everything you'd expect from a Belgian cafe, you can't make a meal on just them. The mussels were small and shriveled, definitely sub-par.

When looking for a place to eat here before going to the Carlisle theater, we stumbled upon Cafe Bruges. The menu posted outside looked interesting, so we decided to give it a try. All of the dishes and all of the beer were Belgian. There were so many different beers that they were listed in a book, with a description... More

This turned out to be one of my favorite restaurants in the Carlisle area, and after 14 weeks of living in a hotel room for training, I tried a lot of places! Cafe Bruges is on the higher end of the price scale for a town of Carlisle's size, but it's certainly not overpriced or out of reach for more... More

It's always nice to visit with friends and relatives, this time, we popped in to see our niece, a student living in Carlisle. We had looked up Café Bruges prior to our recent trip and asked our niece if she'd like to go there for dinner and she said it was her favorite place in Carlisle. It was a date!... More

Mussels and Pomfrets is our favorite meal at this cafe. They have an excellant selection of Belgian beers. Dinner selections to accommodate almost anyone. I hear Sunday Brunch is the best anywhere around. It is a little pricey, 2 people could easily spend $60 for dinner and a beverage. However, it is worth it.

We were visiting Dickinson College when Cafe Bruges was recommended as a lunch spot. It was the best meal we had in the week we traveled through PA visiting colleges. Everyone enjoyed their meal at this Belgian restaurant which specializes in Belgian beer. My husband loved the beer that was recommended to him by the knowledgeable waitstaff. Order the Frites... You can't lose with a breakfast of waffles, frites, and a white ale / orange juice mimosa. It was absolutely delicious. The only dilemma...do you go sweet with the waffles and order them with strawberries, whipped cream, dark chocolate and powdered sugar...or do you go savory with sliced ham, shredded gruyere cheese, poached egg, & lemon cream sauce? Good news...you... More

Authentic Belgian cuisine. Cafe Bruges nails it. The mussels are to die for. Go for traditional. The only thing that they are missing is a carry out window to by the frites.
