Try the Sangria!

Had lunch in the bar downstairs recently with a friend and it's a great little place. The seating was a bit un comfy but I'm picky about that. My vegan burger was awesome, good fries too. Friend had chicken pot pie, which to be honest, I thought, really? in August? How good could it be? Wow, it was... read more

The bacon cheeseburger sliders were so good, moist, delicious, and a big beer list to go along with the food.

My dining mates and I had just been to a cheese and wine tasting event at another restaurant but wanted to get away and have a couple of beers and something more substantial to eat. Someone suggested the Grog and we all agreed as we had all been there before and had had a good time. Unfortunately, this wasn't one... More

My wife, son (a local area college student), and I ate upstairs. While there were many options for both things to drink and things to eat, the former were much better than the latter. I had a beef stew, my wife the chicken pot pie, and our son had a Philly cheese steak. Each of the dishes offered plenty of... More

The Grog is my "go to" place for a burger and a beer. To be honest, everything I've eaten there had been good, so don't be afraid to try something other then a burger. I wouldn't say they're mixed drink kind of place. Also, it's really small and can get crowded when school is in session.

We love The Grog (maybe a little too much!). We only go on days Cheryl is cooking, which is most days. The food is just delicious!

My wife and I had been running errands an were trying to figure out dinner. Saturday night just this side of 7pm and she, in the mood for a burger, suggested The Grog. Learned that they had a 2nd floor dining room with another bar. We got seated right away; ordered and enjoyed one of the best burgers we've had... More

the burgers are just excellent, as is the service and the beer choices; other food may be good, we just don't usually try anything else. they are inflexible with substituting the fries.

My husband and I stopped here on a rainy Friday evening after work because we were extremely dressed down (jeans/gym clothes) and felt like all the other restaurants in Bryn Mawr were too fancy for what we were in the mood for. It's definitely a locals/college student atmosphere, which was fine with us. It was a bit cramped as the... More

Years ago I stopped going to pubs and almost stopped drinking beer. The Grog was like a visit to the good old days. We took advantage of the absence of college kids from Villanova, Haverford and the rest of the local colleges and ventured up the stairs to the second bar. There was a great selection of beers on tap... More
