Authentic Mexican. Nice Place.

Four of us visited for dinner last week for the first time. Nice place and the owner was very nice also. It's a bit on the expensive side, but when they throw in the free margaritas, which were very good, it makes it more worthwhile. Entrees ranged about $18-30, and dinner entress for four, with... read more

The move from the strip mall to a old remodeled stone home produces a very pleasant venue street view. There are parking issues however. Whom ever did the design of the interior must have work previously on prisons, military bases or high schools. It is cold with ridiculous bright, cheesy lighting, table so close that one is sharing a dinner... More

We have been eating at this contemporary Mexican restaurant for years and the food is always excellent. This is NOT your average Tex-Mex restaurant in America but rather Mexican/European cuisine from the Yucatan peninsula. They have recently moved their location a few miles and are now located on Bethlehem Pike in Flourtown. Herein lays the problem. The owner Fernando converted... More

Tamarindos has moved to Flourtown (726 Bethlehem Pike). Unfortunately, they've seemed to taken a turn for the worse. We visited on a Friday night and the parking lot at their new location was smaller than the previous place and was jammed packed with cars. You had to sit in your car and wait for another car to pull out of... More

The antithesis of Chi-Chi's, for those who remember... Tamarindo's specializes in higher-end Mexican food with flair. Love to try new items whenever we go. It's always good and often great. Oh -- and did I mention they serve free Margaritas?? That's quite a plus!

If you are in the mood for very well-prepared flavorful Mexican food, this is for you. Do not expect typical tex-mex; no heavy cheesy-tomatoey sauces, but instead what you would expect in the Yucatan or Quintana Roo. The free marguaritas are a bonus; no liquor license, so cannot be sold here (can bring your own.) The Tampiqueno flank steak is... More

We hadn't been to Tamarindos in quite a while, but friends of ours asked us to meet them there on a recent Friday night. There has always been a long wait for a table, but this night there was none and the place was only half full. This should have been a red flag. The new menu is extensive and... More

This was a great meal! As a matter of fact one of the best meals I've had at a restaurant in ages! The restaurant is located in a strip mall, and very nondescript from the outside. The dining atmosphere is nice, and the lighting is good! I could actually see! I ordered the Filette Tamarindo's...it was delicious! As a matter... More

Got your attention, right? Yes, no liquor license so the margaritas are free. The food is authentico and the wait staff is knowledgeable. One of my friends is a vegetarian and 3 off menu dishes were available . I recommend the queso con chorizo appetizer. The duck and fajitas were also delicious. Everything is hot and fresh tasting. The kitchen... More

Tamarindos looks like it's nothing from the outside; a small entrance in an otherwise dull strip mall near Blue Bell, PA. However once inside, it's hopping with energy and good food. As others said, it can be a little pricey since you're not paying for alcohol but the portions are big enough that you'll have doggie bags to take with... More
