The restaurant is in an old tavern and has the nice atmosphere and decor you would expect. The service was a bit slow. It seemed they only had one server working but they weren't very crowded. I ordered the jumbo lump crab cakes. It came with rice pilaf but they kindly let me substitute for that. The crab cakes were... More

Stopped in again as this is our favorite when visiting State College. Enjoy leaving the madness of downtown and this is more sedate. Had a great martini to start. Excellent ham and bean soup. My daughter loved the chicken piccata and my filet mignon was cooked perfectly as requested and was excellent. Great prompt and friendly service.

The New York strip steak I had last evening at Duffy's was probably the second best steak I ever ate in my life! Not sure if it was due to the fact that it was black angus beef, or due to the special Montreal seasoning or the mushroom ragout, all I know is that it was one good steak! Of... More

We ate in the formal dining room, not on the terrace outside and enjoyed our meal. The dining room itself is historical and simple. Better yet, it's quiet enough to have a conversation. I had the NY strip steak with mushroom ragout, potatoes and veggies. All was cooked to perfection, and I was wishing for a few more mushrooms because... More

The atmosphere of Duffy's is sophisticated, but laid back. The food and service were both great. The area it's in is really beautiful, too. You should definitely stop here if you're in the Boalsburg area.

Within easy walking distance from Springfield B&B; historic photos of old Boalsburg adorn the walls amid period furnishings, old wood beams and floors. Cuisine choices are abundant and well-prepared, tho service time tends to be slow.

We made reservations for a family of 9 and were promptly seated. The staff was very helpful with a gluten free/allergen diet order and made every effort to insure a delicious healthy meal for that family member. The other meals were also wonderful, with a good variety entree's, and the atmosphere is quaint. Great history in the restaurant.

Our dining experience at Duffy's was one of the best. We chose patio dining and it was perfect. Nestled in the charming downtown area of Boalsburg added to the atmosphere. The food is excellent and you can tell that care is taken in the preparing of the dish. The friendly and prompt service provided adds to the atmosphere. Definitely will be... More

Was at the Arts Festival and decided to have a sit-down, air-conditioned meal instead of a sandwich from a trailer in a hot dirty field. I now have a new favorite restaurant. Too bad it's 75 miles from home. I only got the wings but they were excellent. I watched other meals go by me and I wished I would... More

We enjoyed our visit to Historical Boalsburg, PA. There is lots to see in the area. A stroll around this beautiful village is a must. This is the birthplace of Memorial Day. The tavern offers a nice menu with reasonable prices considering the setting in this nicely preserved/restored stage coach stop established in 1819. They offer fine dining or sandwiches.... More
