Nice Destination

Visited Duffy's as a motorcycle destination. Sat outside on the patio with umbrella over the table for shade. Crab cakes were fairly good served with white rice and heirloom carrots. Wife had the grilled chicken cobb salad that was large delicious w/ the ginger soy salad dressing. Would definitely... read more

The restaurant is in a beautiful, historic building with two environments, one for fine dining (had a fireplace on winter) and a more informal one (outside sitting on summer). They have draft beer, their wings have won local competitions and the outside area is pet friendly. They are on the pricey side, especially for the area, but I shared with... More

Duffy's is a great historic tavern with lots of quaint dining rooms and a large outdoor patio. It was a perfect night for al fresco dining. Service was very good; food was ok. The strip steak was the best of our three meals - done perfectly for medium rare and tender. The salmon was very dry. I didn't care for... More

Always stop and have their award winning wings but stayed away from the fine dining menus. Have been disappointed too many times lately at other restaurants. It was my birthday so decided to splurge. So glad we did! This was one of the best meals I have ever had! Had the elk loin with wild mushrooms & hubby got the... More

I had the ahi tuna, which was presented well and smelled heavenly. It was a little salty and overpriced for the dining environment. I've had better in other restaurants in State College. The house pinot grigio was lovely. Was happy to see bison and elk on the menu, especially in a small town. We comfortably wore jeans in the casual... More

I was there today and got a bun that had mold on it. It was nice that everyone said they were sorry but they took nothing off my bill. I thought that was rude. The sandwich was good the second time around without the mold.

Its a nice alternative for a small town. Tavern is in the historical part of town and fits right in...a little dark inside, so good for romance not so good for a business lunch. Food was good

There were several out-of-the ordinary choices on the extensive lunch menu, and after considering the elk dish, II chose the Bison pub steak with thyme demi-glace and roasted garlic, accompanied by mashed Yukon potatoes and broccoli. The steak was cooked to order, and the potatoes were particularly good. Service was very good and the atmosphere in this old building made... More

This really had promise! 2 overpriced burgers, it is always better to have less thick in the middle and cover the bun, almost too hard to eat. It became a knife and fork meal. With no offer of drink refills at 250 a pop! Came with a side of coleslaw or potato salad. Or you can pay $1.50 extra for... More

Duffy's Tavern is our favorite spot for a romantic dinner or lunch. A historic tavern from long ago, Duffy's boasts cozy ambiance with room after room of fireplaces, stone walls, antiques and soft lighting . It also has an authentic stone barroom that makes you feel as though you are in the Irish countryside. For those who enjoy a more... More
