Phil's Tavern was the first place I ate at when I moved to PA almost 30 years ago. Over the years Phil's has matured. Gone are the free pickles, wobbly chairs, paper menus and no waits. This is definitely the place to go if you're really hungry or want 2 meals out of your 1 meal. They portion sizes are awesome.

We went there with few colleagues for dinner. We had few starters and drinks and service was great. Food was also very tasty and nice. Just an advice: the portions are huge so watch out when ordering as we had lots left on the table and I felt bad about food waste

The food quality and choices have improved over the years. It used to be huge portions of only fattening food, but not so any more. I had an absolutely delicious salmon sandwich there recently. The salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I was with 4 other people, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

We had a great variety of appetizers and sandwiches shared among 6 people. The cozy atmosphere - great service and wonderful prices!! We will definitely return!!

Parking lot was full on a Friday for a late lunch. Most everyone leaving the restaurant were carrying doggie bags. We thought ...it must be good. The place is much bigger inside than what you see from the street. Quite a few cozy, old, rooms of seating areas and a large bar as you walk in. I was surprised to... More

Where do you go in the 'burbs of northwest Philly for good Philly fare? Well, Phil's tavern, of course!! I love the steak, cheese steak or pizza steak sandwiches, mozzarella sticks and draft beer. It's comfort food and the environment has something for all, family restaurant on one side, bar on the other. It's been around for a long time... More

Phil's is a bustling tavern with a nice menu and good drinks. Had a drink at the bar while waiting for our table which wasn't long and it was a busy night. The food was very good, sandwiches, dinner entrees or salads to choose from. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. The crowd keeps coming back here!

The Steak and cheese had very little cheese and it was only at the bottom, pre-melted on the bread. The steak wasn't seasoned properly, there wasn't enough cheese and the bread wasn't soft like ti should have been. The fries were great, as was the service, but the sammies lacked. My friend got the chicken cheese and reported the same.... More

We have been enthusiastic patrons of Phil's for many years. The selection is enormous; we are amazed at the quantity and quality of the food that is produced in such a small kitchen. If you don't leave with a 'doggie bag' for the next day, you've probably eaten too much! Burgers, ribs, cheese steaks, huge salads, wraps, sandwiches and entrees... More
