I loved this place, and have been dining there for years. Sadly, went there for dinner on Friday and it has gone downhill. For one, the house margarita had very little tequila. I usually get a buzz from one, and didn't get one this time. For $10, put some liquor in it! Secondly, the service has gone down, too. There... More

This is the real deal Mexican food. Quaint little restaurant. The fish is always fresh, the fundito brings back memories of many visits to Acapulco years ago. Margaritas to guacamole to flan...a good choice.

We had driven past this restaurant for years and had always thought that we should stop here for dinner, but never did. Finally on a rainy Friday night be decided to do it and stopped by for dinner. We were warmly greeted by the lady at the front door who welcomed us and made us feel very comfortable. She nicely... More

I've tried multiple menu items and found my favorite to be the chicken enchilada w/ mole sauce. I've read through some of the bad reviews because I was suprised, but really thought they had some points. If you get the spicier options, it's going to be spicey. I also agreed that the chips and salsa (w/out guac) are $5. Probably... More

Authentic Mexican in a small quaint environment with limited outside seating during warmer months. Not inexpensive, but delicious. Don't expect tacos and refried beans!!

We ate at El Serape several years ago and found the food a bit too hot. We returned this weekend and thought the food was pretty good; it wasn't too hot and was presented in an attractive manner by a pleasant and attentive waitress. There are not too many selections for vegetarians but the enchiladas were tasty and the portions... More

This is Blue Bell's best kept secret hidden in plain sight. El Sarape is on the corner of 202 and 73 and easy to miss because you wouldn't expect such a treat in that location. We've eaten there twice in the last three weeks and will continue to work our way through the creative and diverse menu. While small, El... More

I've been to El Sarape twice and both times have found the menu to be way overpriced for what mostly amounts to average to good food. Most entrees are in the $28-$35 range. Most recently the hostess was very rude to our party upon leaving the restaurant. We won't be back. There are plenty of other great Mexican options in... More

My wife and I both thought our food was over-spiced and over-cooked. She ordered the chicken and beef fajitas thinking it would a safe choice and it was completely over-cooked. I ordered the Camarones Culiacan and you could barely taste the shrimp or bacon because of the intense spices. It just didn't appeal to our tastes and we will not... More

The service and food were simply outstanding! The portions were very generous, and the choice of foods and preparations were authentic. I felt like I was back in Mexico!
