I dined at the family restaurant with 46 additional people in my party as part of a tour group. We had group reservations. We were served at our reservation time slot without delay by courteous servers. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. Some dishes of food were on the bland side, so you can season to... More

We opted to dine at the Plain and Fancy restaaurant in Bird i Hand, Pa during ouir visit to Lancaster. We ordered from the ala carte menue rather than the "homestyle" family way. Our waitress was very good and offered suggestions and opinions on the food choices. I ordered the chicken corn chowder which seems to be on most restaurant's... More

This really is a great family get-together place. We were in town with another family and, having been here before, we thought they should really experience this. The food is consistently excellent. The server was very friendly and accommodating. We didn't get to know the folks at the otter end of the table but they didn't eat all the good... More

I ate here with a large group of family. As someone who can be a bit of a food snob, I had reservations about such a touristy place, but the food was very tasty and fresh. I REALLY wish more vegetables were served, the only one were corn and mixed veg, but both were good. The fried chicken is fantastic... More

My family and I ate here on a group trip and I have to say out of all the family style dinners in Lancaster county, there food taste the best. I also liked how they offered salad and bread to start. I am also a vegetarian and I had a decent selection here compared to other places we went to.... More

We went last minute on a Sunday night and after about a 30 minute wait were seated with other families. The waitress promptly brought out rolls and salad after she had taken our drink order. Food was served family style with all you can eat and drink. The waitress also refilled the platters of roast beef and chicken. The noodles... More

We enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. However, regarding the fancy part of the name, it is not the case. The food was good. Not more than at your home, not less. It's home food, that's it and that's the interest of the experience.

This eatery offers family style eating as well as menu ordering options. We went for the family style, which was a new experience for us. The food was very tasty and it was all you can eat.

Great comfort food. Everyone was so friendly. They did everything to make us comfortable. Seemed like a nice place to bring whole families--kids seemed to be having fun. Was nice to shop after the meal too.

I've been to the Plain and Fancy several times with my family over the past 10 years or so. The food has always been good, and we enjoy eating some of our favorite Pa Dutch foods. Yesterday, I called at 5:30 and was told our table would be ready at 6:30. Unfortunately, when we arrived the hostess was quite rude... More
