We enjoyed the restaurant so much, we went twice! Although you can order off the menu, we preferred to take advantage of the smorgasbord. What a delightful way to sample a variety of Amish dishes. There are also a number of traditional items as well. It can get busy during the peak hours so best to plan your visit accordingly.... More

I'm not usually a big fan of buffets but this one definitely is a winner. The fried chicken is delicious and many vegetables to choose your favorites. Also like the deviled eggs on the salad bar.

This restaurant is always a pleasure to visit. The staff is so friendly and helpful and everything is very clean. The food is fantastic, especially the hot bacon salad dressing which is the best I have ever eaten! Highly recommend!

Staying at The Bird in Hand Suites we got voucher for The Bird in Hand Family Restaurant. As it was just up the road we gave it try. Great choice - really out of the ordinary in America. Brilliant waitress Vivian explained it al to us. I went for the "somergesbord" (buffet) and my wife had the excellent ham salad.... More

My goodness! The food was magnificent. The true definition of home, hearth and warmth. This family style restaurant and smorgasbord was filled with Pennsylvania Dutch tradition and friendliness. The food is grown locally, straight from the farm to the table and it taste just as you'd expect with this kind of freshness, butter and seasonings. Desserts are just as great... More

This is one of our favorite restaurants when we are enjoying Amish country We were greeted warmly upon arrival. Although they do have quite a smorgasbord, we chose to pick from the menu. We had the ham loaf and the roast beef with the veggies of the day and both were delicious. We topped off the meal with cherry pie... More

Most of the food is good and close to Amish cooking but then the bits of it that are run of the mill buffet style just ruin it. Its still good food but it used to be better.

We came here on a Friday morning. The wait was about 15 minutes for a table. Our server apparently had more tables than usual because she seemed super busy, which meant we waited a while for our coffee. We were seated just past the hostess station so there was a lot of traffic and it didn't seem like the air... More
