Fun tavern, great food

Going here and sitting in the tavern by the roaring fire is worth the visit. But to top it off - the food is great - solid selection of tavern favorites - from soups to sandwiches

We enjoyed a delicious dinner last Monday night. The restaurant was not crowded but the Tavern was full. Service was friendly and attentive. The crab cakes were moist, flavorful and full of crab. The prime rib was also a good choice. A roaring fire made for a cozy atmosphere on a cold night. The peanut butter pie is a great... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at the Jean Bonnet. From check in to housekeeping the staff is very friendly. We stayed in room number two which has a gas fireplace, it was so warm and inviting. The room is decorated with period pieces and not much clutter, just as it would have been years ago. The rooms are on... More

You gave to try the scotch eggs. Excellent! You get two eggs cut in half with a delicious mustard dipping sauce. The sausage on the eggs is local. Great beer selections!

My wife and I try to get away after the holidays. Our favorite spot is Bedford Springs. On our trip this January we were excited about visiting the Jean Bonnet Tavern. As a retired history educator I am very familiar with the historical significance and history of the Tavern. My wife was also interested in seeing if she could witness... More

Needed a break after the holidays and Jean Bonnet Tavern was recommended by a friend. Dinner was wonderful. My husband had the onion soup and the lobster ravioli. I had the chicken Corbon Bleu - which was huge. The chicken breast was loaded with yummy ham. Of course we had to try the oatmeal pie for dessert. Yummy. We will... More

Great beer selection, most nights have a food special, always our top spot to go to in Bedford area, especially when we stay at Shawnee. The summer evenings are excellent out in the patio area, and they accomodated my wife's birthday one night with some fantastic service. Will be back again

Went to have dinner on a Sat. night without a reservation, well forget that the place was packed. Made reservation for Sunday and the place was almost empty, would suggest going on a Sunday if you can. The dinning room has a rustic look and you could almost feel yourself go back in time. The Menu had changed from what... More

Met here on a Sunday evening with friends from out of town for appetizers and drinks. Bartender was our server. The updated bar was a nice addition. Cocktail specials of month were fabulous. Appetizers hit the spot

We went as tourists for the historic nature of the building but left as huge fans of the food! The quality of the food was similar to fine dining but served in a very comfortable, casual and Very reasonably priced setting! Salmon cakes, onion rings, crab & corn soup and stuffed pepper soup were all outstanding! the service was friendly... More
