Outstanding dining experience!

This was my first visit. What a unique establishment - a building from the 1700's with great dining and superb service! My husband and I chose the Tavern Crab Cakes which came with jumbo crabmeat and very little filler. I chose a side of sweet potato fries which were accompanied by a wonderful... read more

Very good food and the tavern is a wonderful way to experience the history of Bedford County. Staff was attentive.

My college sorority sister recommended this restaurant as a place we could meet as we were traveling in PA. What a great suggestion. My 12 oz prime rib was cooked to medium rare perfection and needed almost no additional seasoning other than some horseradish to further enhance the melt-in-your-mouth flavor. My husband had the seafood ravioli and particularly liked the... More

This second visit and dining experience was even better than our first . The staff is up beat and inviting no matter how busy they may be. Food is fantastic and is also served on beautiful pewter dinner wear "Lead Free" ;-) I was so intrigued by them I had to ask questions, very nice touch!

Just did a ghost investigation here. Lovely place to stay. Everyone treated us so nice. Food was good. Not too active ghost-wise.

Although it is a bit off the beaten path, and a short winding drive from the Pennsylvania Turnpike, this is a lovely place to dine: very fine food and an unbeatable historic setting. The main dining room has stone walls, antique coverlets here and there, and candle-lighting. The salads made a very filling lunch, and all of the staff is pleasant.... More

Food and beer are good here, but the food is sometimes hit or miss... we often go there to hang out with friends and get appetizers.

Excellent food with a nice view on the outside deck. Wait staff was nice. Get the Asian salmon salad or the strawberry chicken salad.

this is a historic tavern located a few miles west of Bedford on Route 30. Unfortunately, it's at a point where Pa route 31 forks off route 30. That leaves the tavern with a sliver of space between two ugly roads. As a result, you start in an ugly parking lot with an ugly view. The inside is much nicer... More

My husband and I have passed this place many times and have remarked that we should stop sometime. We did this recently and were pleased we did! We enjoyed the delicious food and friendly service. We visited once for an early dinner and the next day we decided to return again. It was busy both times so we know it... More
