A Treasure

We live a little over an hour away from Jean Bonnet, but we don't visit nearly often enough. It is such a special place abounding in history and ambience that can't be faked. As others have pointed out, there is something special to recommend it through every season but through the winter with a... read more

I have been here 4 times and each time is just average. I am never wowed by the service or the food and I really want to be. So many locals rave about this place but I honestly feel it is because there is nothing else around. I go here because my wife is from the area but I wouldn't... More

IF the old style, rustic, charm isn't enough for you, maybe think about the history. It's hard to think of "who" may have passed through those doors ... Anyhow, the food and service is always good here.It doesn't matter the occasion and/or dress you will be welcomed.

We love going to the Jean Bonnet. We always sit upstairs in the bar with fireplace or out on patio depending on season. My kids love the wings and my wife and I really like the salds and the soups (corn crab chowder and onion soup). Large assotment of beer. Family-owned and operated business. Great service and food.

The food at the JB has improved, but they fall short on some simple ways to leverage some of their strengths: add more flavors of wings, so that you are competing for some of the market segment of your competitors. Address good food with bad sauces: very good scallops with BBQ sauce is like putting bald tires on a Porsche.... More

Five of us ate at Jean Bonnet to celebrate a family event. Because I must eat gluten-free, the waitress said it would be no problem to substitute rice for orzo pasta in the scallops with pesto. I was delighted with the entree's taste and texture of the scallops. Others in my party ate the stuffed chicken with spinach and roast... More

A cozy seat in front of the fireplace with good service and great food. Lovely atmosphere, but a bit rushed. It seemed like one course was coming before we completed the one we were on. Would have liked to spend a little more time over dinner enjoying with my hubby. My scallops were excellent. The orzo and asparagus that accompanied... More

We've been coming to this restaurant for over 5 years now and every time we eat there, it's awesome!! The food is great. It might be out of your way, but it's so worth it. Try there wings on wing night on Wednesdays!!! They are all cooked to order, so sit back, relax, enjoy time w/ family & friends while... More

The tavern has been serving meals and hosting travelers since the 1700s. We ate in the 2nd floor tavern for lunch and had a tasty meal. The French Onion soup was exceptional and the French dip sandwich and the bison burgers were done to perfection. The staff was friendly and there was a fire burning in the fireplace. We will... We frequent this rustic tavern near Bedford famous for its variety of delicious cusine. Choose the dining room downstairs, casual second floor tavern or outside porch/patio in fair weather. A small meeting room is also perfect for intimate gatherings. Enjoy ambiance including amazing restored architecture & roaring fireplaces on each floor. The restaurants offer a great selection of beer, wine... More
