I decided to go here after all the good reviews. The dining room is dimly lit. I ordered the salmon with shrimp and crab sauce. The salmon came out looking like a brown blob. It was covered in the biege sauce. It did not look appealing but looks can be decieving. It was very tasty. the salmon was cooked perfectly.... More

While waiting for our relatives to show up we walked the grounds of the restaurant. Beside the herb garden that the kitchen uses were goats in a pen. The grounds are well kept and they have a small building with a gift shop. The restaurant is in a beautiful old stone and hand hewn log building. The downstairs is a... More

We have ate here a few times now and always enjoy the food and staff. The lobster mac and cheese is amazing. They are a gem in the app mountains of PA. When we fo to Bedford, we go to the Jean Bonnet!

This restaurant offers some very odd food combinations-shrimp and blueberries? I had a salad that had way too many items on it that just didn't belong so I ended up picking it apart. I was most disappointed by the steak on the salad being very fatty, tough, and cooked unevenly (part well, part rare). I was with a large group... More

The Jean Bonnet Tavern is truly a one of a kind place. When you arrive in the parking lot, you are seriously taken aback by the sheer beauty of the building itself. The grounds feature a shop (which is adorable), a bed and breakfast, the upstairs tavern, and the downstairs tavern, all of which are just amazing. My family and... More

Historic tavern built in the 1700's with large stone fireplaces serving very good food. I ordered the French onion soup and a bacon cheese burger. I would recommend these items to everyone. My friends ordered other dishes and they said they were very good. A neat place to stop and see historic tavern that serves very good food and has... More

I've been to the Jean Bonnet Tavern several times over the last 20 years or so, and have to say that the current owners are doing a great job of modernizing the menu while not detracting from the great history this place has. There's a big side patio now that wasn't there a few years ago, and even with US... More

For years we have wanted to stop here as we passed it on the PA Turnpike. I'm so glad we stopped for lunch on this trip. I ordered the Mandarin Grilled Chicken salad with cranberries, pecans, oranges and fresh greens. It was a real treat. My husband ordered the bartered fish plate with fries and cole slaw. He was very... More

We stopped off while on a Connecticut to Ohio road trip. The atmosphere is very nice. The service was great. They made a very nice cosmopolitan. We ordered the wings with mild buffalo sauce and they were very good. We both ordered steak entrees and they were great as well.

Very authentic atmosphere...loved the pewter plates and candle holders. Food was good. I had the French dip sandwich, which was tasty. My husband had the burger topped with a crab cake...different but good. Service was prompt, and the server was friendly. Overall good, but nothing outstanding to report.
