Fun stop with kids!

We stopped at Jean Bonnet on our way from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia. It was a nice break in the trip. I had read the ghost stories of the location and was excited for that reason. My 7 year old also got excited as I told her ghost stories as we drove. The Tavern itself is a cool old building... read more

If you are looking to step back in time, then Jean Bonnet is the place to stop at. The great meals can be priced from average to high class. Don't forget to ask for the Ghost book to see what Ghost have been captured even on film. But who knows you may experience one yourself while you are dining, drinking... More

I am originally from Bedford. In my absence, the Jean Bonnet has blossomed into a world class eatery. It is now included in every return visit home.

Loved, loved, loved our visit to this historic tavern. You can almost feel the history around you. Started our lunch with the crab-corn chowder which was tasty. The rest of the meal was excellent as well. Tried the bison burger and the French dip. Both were hearty sandwiches, excellent flavor, and worth their price. The sweet fries and dip were... More

My husband took me to this Tavern for my birthday! The meal was great! We loved the beet salad dressing! We stayed over night and had the whole Inn to our selves! The staff told us about the ghosts that roam around! We did not experience any ghosts sightings but had a very memorable stay! The breakfast they served was... More

I tried the Stuffed Crab Mushroom as an appetizer, House salad with the French house dressing as a side and lobster ravioli as the main entree. The flavor of the sauce blended together gave an incredible taste to the lobster and crab provided a whole new taste. The service was outstanding and they give a nice warm feeling of a... More

We live a little over an hour away from Jean Bonnet, but we don't visit nearly often enough. It is such a special place abounding in history and ambience that can't be faked. As others have pointed out, there is something special to recommend it through every season but through the winter with a ripping fire to smell and gaze... More

I have been here 4 times and each time is just average. I am never wowed by the service or the food and I really want to be. So many locals rave about this place but I honestly feel it is because there is nothing else around. I go here because my wife is from the area but I wouldn't... More

IF the old style, rustic, charm isn't enough for you, maybe think about the history. It's hard to think of "who" may have passed through those doors ... Anyhow, the food and service is always good here.It doesn't matter the occasion and/or dress you will be welcomed.

We love going to the Jean Bonnet. We always sit upstairs in the bar with fireplace or out on patio depending on season. My kids love the wings and my wife and I really like the salds and the soups (corn crab chowder and onion soup). Large assotment of beer. Family-owned and operated business. Great service and food.
