Cool mountain place to eat!!!

This restaurant has a very cool old west cabin feel. We had breakfast which was quite good and reasonably priced. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating! A must hit in Welches!

I had a sirloin steak and my husband had country fried steak. Both were amazing. Came with homemade mashed potatoes, and country style green beans and garlic toast. I also had the navy bean soup which was sooooo good!! The interior of this place is very cozy and inviting and they were playing oldies music which made it even more... More

We have always seen car at this restaurant as we travel between Portland and Central Oregon, so this last time we gave it a try. It appears that most of the cars are for the bar as the eating area was mostly empty. We had a simple turkey sandwich that was just ok. Service was a little slow to take... More

Between Portland and Mt Hood, this place feels like Oregon. Daughter had a Monte Cristo sandwich which she loved and ate the whole thing and it was huge. Then she helped me finish my natural cut fries. The halibut fish and chips was fried to perfection. Ambiance of pure Oregon.

We stopped here on our way to Lake Billy Chinook (group of 4). We sat in the bar which is a very comfortable, log cabin atmosphere - very large and open area. The bartender/waitress was very friendly and helped us in deciding what to order. Their chicken strips are hand breaded and were fantastic on the chicken cordon blue sandwich... More

Barlow Trail Roadhouse is very easy to find and there is an abundance of parking. The food is good and portions are very generous. Our server was very knowledgeable. Prices are extremely reasonable. The restaurant is very clean and well organized. Make sure you check out the fishing themed restroom-it's great.

The best breakfast ever. The server was great, very personable. Meal portions are gigantic. I had the steel cut oatmeal with brown sugar, raisins and milk. Delicious and piping hot. Son had mountain toast combo. Who thinks to deep fry Texas toast dipped in pancake batter and frosted flakes? They do! Very clean restaurant. I liked that the back side windows... More

Enjoyed the clam chowder along with the bacon bleu burger and potato salad. Service was very fast and pleasant and prices quite reasonable. Fun, rustic setting. Had a Porter (local brew) at the adjacent bar after the bartender provided generous tastings of anything I was curious about.

Outstanding breakfast in Welches. Rustic cabin decor, big portions and friendly service make this a true Oregon roadhouse. The Mountain Toast is blissful. The omelets are fluffy and full of fresh ingredients. The country potatoes truly taste homemade, the best I've had in a restaurant in a long time. We will be back and bring others to this gem.
