This is one of the great places from the old days — places that can still hang on where it’s too small to attract the usual boring competition. The Starlite is a good one. Homemade pie six days a week. Need I say more? Okay – full menu – breakfast, lunch, dinner. Down home. Clean rest rooms with cowboy humor.... More

We stopped on Mothers Day for a late breakfast early lunch and found the service lack luster. The food was good, but honestly, I can not give any raving review except for the dessert. We shared the Cream Cheese Berry Pie, sounds good, right! Not so much. It seemed like the box mix my mother used to by for us... More

I love this place! The clientele are colorful locals, the decor screams American Cafe, the food is homestyle, fresh, and served hot. We had the blueberry pancakes - there were plenty of blueberries in them. The eggs that came with we're hot and perfectly cooked (over medium) and the bacon was really - bacony. There's nothing Lite about Starlite Cafe.... More

What a nice place for breakfast. The service is friendly and the food good. So many pies to choose from I had to take some home. Perfect breakfast stop on our way home from Nampa to Bend.

I have eaten twice at this restaurant in the past month. The first time I had breakfast which was great. the coffee was hot and the food served by a very nice young lady. I like my eggs over easy and these were perfect with the hash browns seasoned just right. The amount of food served was not the overloaded... More

Quick and friendly. Tuna melt was not traditional but delicious. The soup was great. The fries and tots were typical.

Stopped for lunch and ordered soup and a buffalo burger. The soup was beef barley and it was home made. A meal in itself. By the way they have great homemade pie!

Stopped for breakfast on our way thru. What a great meal!! Hubby says best chicken fried steak ever. I asked for a chili cheese omelet even though it wasn't on the menu and it was fantastic! ! Great service. A truly good diner.

If you happen to driving through Vale then this is a great choice for hearty soups, delicious pies, and my favorites: a grilled tuna or BLT. If you miss the Starlite then just hit the Juntura Cafe (if your going south), but Juntura's tuna salad is not as delish.

This is the type of place where you wonder if you are invading a locals favorite table or stool! Everyone seemed to know everyone else, with us being the obvious "outsiders." And, yes, I got fooled with the "mustard trick." My husband had a hamburger and I ordered the patty melt. Both were good. The tater tots were appropriately crunchy... More
