Place to go before or after a concert at Edgefield.

I recently had dinner at the Black Rabbit at McMenamins's Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon. The beet salad with hazelnuts, goat cheese and sugar snap peas was terrific. We also had scallops that were seared with a great sauce. I had a crab salad sandwich served with homemade potato chips and my... read more

We were here for lunch, with very few other customers, which makes the slow service so bizarre. The food was not bad, and the prices seemed reasonable. I'd love to see what this place was like when they had adequate staff on the floor. Waited 20 minutes for our drinks, and an 45 minutes for the food order. Not bad,... More

For years, on Sunday mornings we have ridden our bikes 15 miles to this place to eat brunch. We will not be doing it again. They now stop brunch at 11:30. The menu is so lacking! The breakfast portion of the menu has no pancakes, no waffles, crepes, French toast...absolutely nothing sweet. It was a very limited breakfast menu, no... More

We had just come from Multnomah Falls and we were pretty hungry. We stopped in to the Black Rabbit as it was the first restaurant we came too on the McMenamins Edgewater property. My brother said the service was reputed to be slow but that was not our experience. The restaurant wasn't busy but it was 1:30 on a Tuesday.... More

Incredible atmosphere, beautiful restaurant with an even better pub! Superb service, quality food and great wine, spirits, and ales made on site! Favorite at the pub is grilled cheese (thick cut pepper bacon, butternut squash, not your traditional...comfort food with a gourmet twist!). Favorite in the restaurant was the ribeye, but they had tons more I wanted to try. Adore... More

We met some friends that had just relocated to Oregon at the Rabbit and it was our first time there. The staff made the meal special for us with candles and other niceties, great food and fun, a good time was had by all!

Ingredients were very fresh and the omelets were excellent, and the coffee was outstanding. The Edgefield was full of history and interesting sties, and a must see if in the area.

Do go to this restaurant. Though explore the entire grounds. Try the beers, but also try the distilled spirits. The stews and soups of the day are usually quite good. Do try the pear brandy. Like eating a juicy alcoholic pear!
