Huge Portions, Home Style Food

Extended family in town wanted breakfast in this quirky diner and we were not disappointed. The decor is kitch, local, homey and fun. The food is delicious! We all had breakfast dishes, and those of us with seafood entrees were winners! I had the Eggs Benedict with fresh crab. Truly... read more

Working near there a coworker said he saw this place on TV on a food network show. Said let's go try lunch. So we did. When we walked in was greeted with a very friendly waitress and she said sit wherever you would like. She got us set up with drinks Anda menu. Lots to choose from then the owner... More

After almost being blown away at the Gorge New Year's Day, we stopped in for lunch and a drink and sat at the bar. We had " the whisper" cocktail with amaretto and Baileys. The bartender was on the spot and genuine. Nice for a 28 degree day. Atmosphere is warm and friendly two fireplaces. Homey and cozy. Reminded me... More

We found this place in trip advisor and sounded great. Drove about 20 minutes from East portland near the airport to find it. Be sure to look up directions before attempting to find. Not hard, but not an expected place. ..The great thing was the food. My wife had the best steak she had had in years and I had... More

Highly recommend that you go on a good weather day and sit out back in the open air carved wood part of the restaurant. Also, recommend the fish and chips and most anything seafood on the menu, as you can't go wrong...

Went here to celebrate out 20th anniversary and to check it out and see what all the hype was about. The food was really good, both my wife and son loved the chowder. The staff was fantastic and exceeded expectations; I wish all restaurant staff were as good as these guys. My only gripe with this place is their pricing.... More

Expensive but quality and abundance so it's worth the price tag. The service is okay because their so busy. Worth the trip.

When you first walk in nice bar area right in front. But then the country diner with all scratch made food sets in when your seated. Bread pudding French toast was excellent. CFS just good, wasn't a fan of the herb gravy? All in all great spot.

Stopped here for lunch on the way to the Gorge on the old Columbia river Highway. We sat outside among the Halloween decorations and had a great time. I ordered Fish and Chips (halibut) and it was oustanding. They serve several local beers also. Nice lunch on a beautiful fall day!

After an exhausting search from the airport, we searched hither and yon and finally found a bright light in the forest.Shirley was out of town but, a friendly gentleman regaled us with his many, colorful stories .I had the Halibut fish and chips and they were piping hot and delicious . Hubby was hoping for Shirley ' s famous meatballs... More
