waiting to Tads to open down the road and we continued up the Sandy river and ran into Shirley's Tippy Canoe, it is one of our favorites now! Large portions, homemade fries, it was a cold rainy day and we walked in the place and it was warm, great smells, and great service. the place was casual and nice and... More

Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Mom drove from The Dalles and we were 30 minutes away. Wow, we saw an adult Bald eagle while we were in the parking lot, waterfalls and the Sandy river on the drive up. It's like walking in to a cozy cabin, fireplace, and knotty pine walls. Charming not tacky.... More

We have taken several friends to lunch and always had an enjoyable experience. The food is always hot and well prepared. The portions are large so my wife and I often share. Our friends have told us they were also pleased with the friendly service and enjoyed the homey feeling of the resturaunt.

Tucked roadside in a valley along the Sandy River sits a log cabin style restaurant called Shirley's Tippy Canoe. The area is gorgeous and the food is fantastic. Shirley, the animated owner, personally greets you as you enter, seats you, gets your drink order and then proceeds to rattle off the entire breakfast menu. I stopped in right after she... More

Our credit card was double-charged at this restaurant. When we realized it had happened, it was just beyond the time period within which the credit card company would reverse it, so we telephoned Shirley's Tippy Canoe about it. We were told that the owner, Shirley, would have to call us back. Having not heard back from Shirley, we telephoned again... More

Had breakfast there last week with a friend. The food was delicious and was well worth the drive. Service was good, very friendly and helpful and it was good value for money. Worth going back to.

Who knew this out in the middle of nowhere place would be so good. We wanted to have breakfast but missed it by half an hour. We heard the french toast is worth trying. Food is good, prices reasonable, service good, atmosphere is fun and worth a stop. Shirley came by our table and was very welcoming, friendly and energetic.

Well, what can I say? This had to be one of our "diners, drive-in and dives" best. The food (breakfast) was unbelievable. Fresh and tasty. They really do use local food. Homemade cooking at it's best. I had Eggs Benedict, my husband had a Seafood Omelet. Both meals were Xcellent.

One of our favorite places to dine outside in nice weather, Shirley's has a huge outdoor patio. The food is always well prepared. Be forewarned it is a little on the high priced side which may be because it has been featured on national TV in the past two years. The last time we were there we were serenaded by... More
