Good Try - E for Effort

While we always appreciate vegan and plant-based options to meet our dietary needs, this one doesn't make the cut. Yes, the entire menu is "vegan" and it is heavily slanted toward food items pretending to be meat. Also VERY salty . . . they use way too much sodium in all of their foods, tasting... read more

My wife discovered Native Foods about a year ago and we have been enjoying their "Vegan" food many times. We went to Brigeport Village yesterday, December 8, 2014 to do some shopping and have lunch at Native Foods Cafe. We are drawn to this establishment because of the eclectic menu and really delicious food. I often order the daily special... More

I love this restaurant so much I eat lunch here a couple times each month. My favorite meal is the Tuesday soup special, African Peanut, with the Mini Greens Salad with balsamic dressing, sunflower seeds, beets, carrots, the freshest greens and best croutons. The only thing mini about it is the price. I also love the sweet potato fries and... More

I don't live close enough to this restaurant to frequent it as often as I'd like (which is probably good for my pocketbook) but MAN this place is awesome! I have taken my husband and a couple friends here and they have all loved it too. I especially recommend the Oklahoma Bacon Burger and the Chicken Run Ranch Sandwich. The... More

Even non-veggies like this café. Most have a hard time believing that the sausage seitan is not an animal product - but it isn't, it just taste that way.

Ok, Yes, I admit I had already been eating vegan for years before trying out this place, but I still enjoyed the food and continue to do so. My family's favorite is the portobello mushroom burger - we order it all the time. We also enjoy the variety of flavorful beverages that Native Foods offers - we like mixing and... More

We eat at Native Foods about once a month and it never ceases to amaze me. What ever we try tastes exactly like its' counterpart. The chicken tastes like chicken, pastrami tastes like pastrami. I feel I am as satisfied with these plant based foods as I would be with the actual meat products. The sauces are delicious and their... More

I have been vegan for a number of years and have, until now, recommended Native Foods to friends and colleagues (I work in media and publishing). Yesterday, we mentioned one of us was having a birthday and drove over an hour to celebrate this at Native Foods. We were told if we had signed up online and given them two... More

Native Foods Cafe is 100% plant-based foods. What does that mean? The "chicken fingers" and "chicken nuggets" are flavored tofu. The "Rueben" sandwich is another mystery vegan substance masquerading as meat. "Mac and cheese" contains no cheese. It confuses me. If the plant-based foods are nutritionally superior than animal-based foods then why the pretend meals? Just serve natural vegetables -... More
