The decorations and seating is more Salon/Bar, the food is more trendy good Seafood. There were a lot of Locals there on a Saturday night which is usually a good sign. The menu is large with Seafood as well as pasta's, burgers and steaks. The halibut was delightful and the homemade desserts were delicious.

Kids enjoyed variety, one had buttered noodles and the other a grilled cheese. Broccoli cheese soup was a hit on a Sat night. Adults had a BLT and Scallops Provençal. BLT was good, bacon was plentiful but fries were a little too browned (looked like oil needed changed). Scallops were good, probably not worth 26 bucks but hit the seafood... More

We arrived on a Thursday night around 8:00pm. The bartender greeted us and got us seated. I immediately ordered our drinks from her because we needed a libation at that point. She made some very good mojitos we enjoyed while reading the menu. I was beginning to get worried about the service. There was a large party and the server... More

Great menu, great food, great service! Convenient to our hotel. Right in town. Did seem to be the only non-chain place to eat in and around town. We were very glad we picked the Baldwin to go to.

My husband and I ate here on a trip through Oregon. We stayed at the Balch Hotel in Dufur and the owner had sent me a coupon for the Baldwin Saloon. We were here mid May and arrived around 3PM on a Thursday so the place was not crowded. The food was obviously made from scratch with fresh ingredients. We... More

Had the Reuben and my wife had the cold Turkey sandwich. Both were outstanding, both made with fresh bread baked on site. Great decor and artifacts from the old saloon. Definitely a great place to go for lunch if your are in The Dalles

My sister and I came to Portland to visit My. Hood, and all the beautiful scenery that the area had to offer. We made our way to The Dalles looking at their historic city and wanting to have fresh salmon for dinner. We decided on the Baldwin Saloon, it was historic in it's own rite. I cannot eat full portions... More

we went for dinner here and tried to sit as far away from the "pianist" who was managing to hit 3 out of 4 right notes as we could and ordered a starter and main. we were only halfway through our starter when the distinctly average main course arrived so by the time we got to it it was lukewarm.... The food was delicious and service was excellent. There was a live pianist playing old time music that blended in well with the authentically vintage decor. After dinner my husband and I walked downtown and enjoyed looking at some historical buildings. I would do the again!

My wife and I had dinner there recently and went based on both the Trip Advisor recommendations and those from the folks at our hotel (i.e., other travellers who'd eaten there). I had a very good seafood pasta dish which featured both salmon and halibut, along with some clams, mussels and shrimp. My wife had a fried seafood platter and,... More
