Recommended by our hotel, the Baldwin Saloon was great fun. The old saloon atmosphere was enhanced by a wonderful lady playing old time piano and the back bar is beautiful. Service was friendly and food was fine.

The Baldwin saloon is always a sure place for great food.My personal favorite is the prime rib sandwich! The Piano atop the bar area is often played by a sweet old lady who plays traditional folk and ragtime type songs.the place can feel a little cramped and the seats are not the most comfortable. The scenery is not the greatest as... I did not expect such a diverse menu in The Dalles. For example roasted garlic and bouillabaisse. I see why other reviewers eat here often.

Stopped in here to see what kind of food they served and the have a pretty diverse menu. We decided on having the dark meat chicken pasta alfredo. It was extremely good. The wait staff was on the speedy side and we felt a little rushed with our dinner. I will say at least we didn't have to wait for... More

Perhaps it was because we were exhausted from moving and just a few hours into our road trip, but this was a really enjoyable dinner. Service was excellent throughout. Food was very good as was the beer. Really fun interior with a great history. Two single people eating here too, one obviously local. We'd go back.

A little farther walk from The Dalles Inn but A LOT BETTER than a burger joint. You should give this one a try.

The location was great. The return of this late 1800s building back to its original purpose as a bar/saloon was interesting. The food was very good. All breads were made fresh on the premises. My French dip on a homemade baguette with sliced prime rib was an excellent choice. Since the saloon came into existence because of the railroad, it... More

We chose Baldwin Saloon based on other Trip Advisor reviews and are we glad. I had the Hula sandwich (served hot) and my sister had the Greek Salad. The food was wonderful. Shannon was our waitress and was a pleasure to chat with. She really knew the menu well. The building was charming. I would definitely recommend the Baldwin Saloon.

I live in The Dalles and eat at Baldwin at least once a week. Everything I've tried has been incredible! It's rare to find a restaurant like this that does almost everything from scratch. Their chef is a GENIUS. The service is good and the atmosphere is kind of "ye olde classy hole-in-the-wall." Live music (jazz standards and show tunes)... More

Was stopping for lunch in The Dalles and I guess I just liked the sign. What luck! Had a pint and a BLT with potato salad. Nothing fancy, right? Oh but what a sandwich! Heaps of thick cut bacon on their own bleu cheese bread(that wasn't overpowering). This was not a dainty BLT. Sit by the window and watch the... More
