Favorite Thai Restaurant!

When my husband is working out of town we eat here once a week! We have consistently had fresh, flavorful food here, and branched out to order different things than our usual. Poor service, poor food quality and taste. I love Thai food but this place ranks as one of the worst I've experienced. Appetizer was burnt, server was not attentive and slow, entrees were just okay, even our beverages were awful. Soda had no carbonation and wine was served in a champagne glass.

really good thai food, just as good as anything in Portland. portions are just a tad small for specialty items. but the price is fine. atmosphere is family/average, would be nice if they decorated a little more "thai restaurant" style, but clean and nice. would go back for sure.

The service is great, and very accommodating. The food is beautifully presented. I think it was tasty, but honestly can't say if it was more than that because it was so spicy-hot my mouth was on fire, I was red-faced and sweating -- and I ordered a "mild" dish! Too much heat for me, not my thing, so we probably... More

The Thai food was very good l& we are a bit picky. The ginger chiecken was good, too. The portions were not lhuge, but the quality of the flavors more than made up for it.

Searching for good restaurant for an overnight in the Dalles--got lucky! We cruised by several other restaurants first. One had changed ownership, one was packed with people and looked very undesirable, one was more of a tavern. Finally landed on Montira's to discover it nearly empty (despite the very good reviews). Wonderful servers brought us some of the best Thai... More

Our family had dinner here recently and the service wasn't consistent, the food was fresh but tasteless, and one of the orders arrived cold. The beef in the Variety Noodle dish was very dry - like it had been cooked a day earlier and set aside. The dining area was empty when we arrived but it got crowded within 30... More

I really don't understand the reviews. Not only was this subpar, it was the worst Thai food that my wife and I have ever tasted. It makes you question the validity of Tripadvisor ratings. I don't see how this restaurant possibly got to the top of the list.... it was that bad. Stay away!!!

So I've eaten a lot of Thai in my time and have to say this place is pretty special. Everything was so tasty and better than usual. Did not expect such a treat in such a small town. Nice surprise.

The food is wonderfully delicious! In addition the time and effort on the presentation rewards the customer with a very pleasant dining experience. This restaurant is a sleeper, tucked in a corner of The Dalles where you would not normally think to find excellent thai food but trust me it is well worth the visit to eat here. Every dish... More
