This was my second visit to the Cowboy. It was even better than I remembered. There were four of us. We ordered to steaks (really more like roasts) and two chicken. We ate one steak and half of one chicken. The steak was rare on the inside just the way we like it. The bean soup very tasty with at... More

This is a tiny little spot in the middle of vast country space. The steaks are huge (30 oz) and cooked to perfection. Homemade rolls, cowboy bean soup, fresh salad, baked potato and oh yes, dessert. We as a group of 45 took a bus to the out of the way spot of deliciousness and thoroughly enjoyed it. You must... More

We went to the Cowboy Dinner Tree for the first time because of recommendations from two separate friends. We were not disappointed - it was as good as they said. We were a little bit wary when we first drove up, but there were plenty of vehicles so we decided to venture in. This little place is not to be... More

I had to be in Silverlake to look at property and decided to eat here after reading reviews and talking to friends who have went in the past. Stayed in their small cabin and the atmosphere and ambiance of the old west was there from wood stove only (10 degrees that night). Leather hinges on all closets and cabinets. Took... More

We have gone to the Dinner Tree many times over the years and were always thrilled with everything until our most recent visit. Maybe a new ownership problem? The soup wasn't the wonderful usual beans and beef but instead a "creamy vegetable" soup that was very watery and quite disappointing. Nothing "creamy" about it. Tasted like milk with canned mixed... I've been to The Cowboy Dinner Tree 5 times in the last couple of years, and hope for many more returns. "No credit cards, no electricity, no kidding"! The menu is a 26 to 30oz steak, or a whole chicken, so come hungry. Grilled to perfection, the food is absolutly amazing. The home made salad dressings are unbelievable yummy. You... More

I heard that the joint was recently sold and now it was "different." My guests didn't think so. You get a salad, refillable quart of lemonade, ice teas, or, no kidding, Arnold Palmers, being a mixture of lemonade and ice tea. Then comes a bowl of beans. Then you get a two inch thick steak about7 inches across. $27, no... More

After reading and hearing friends talk about The Cowboy DInner Tree my wife and I decided it was time to make the drive to Silver Lake, Oregon. We met family for a few days in the Silver Lake and Summer Lake area, what fun. We had seven o'clock reservations and had pre-ordered our steak and chicken dinners. We were quickly... More

My cousins from Oregon treated us there. At first I thought they were kidding. We drove for miles without a restaurant in sight. The symbolism of this place is Cattle Herding of days gone by. There is an abundance of eclectic memorabilia and the dusty atmosphere takes you right back. Bring a hearty appetite for the super large serving that... More
