A comfortable restaurant with very good service and food. I loved this place primarily because of the overall environment: "on the water" atmosphere with all the service, good food and unpretentious physical surroundings one needs to relax and enjoy a meal. Initially, I felt it was the perfect place to eat outside on a hot day but I soon realized... More

Mark's on the Channel is a floating restaurant in McCuddy's Marina a short ride from the city of Portland. Your canine friend is welcome and on a hot, sunny day, you can bring your dog and sit outside on the deck that overlooks the channel. The food is really good and the service is fast. I recommend the fish and... More

One should not fry oysters, this is a mistake; I had to try them to be sure! A very nice meal in the cool breeze by the channel that included some very good tuna that was grilled to perfection. Staff most helpfull, cooking is competent and the menu varied. Very good local beers and I noticed some interesting wine including... More

I have eaten at Mark's on the Channel since he first opened and have never had a disappointing meal. What a change for Columbia County to have a real chef in the kitchen. I now live in NE Oregon and was in town to visit a friend. We made sure we went to Mark's for dinner. My salmon entree was... More

We were a party of six , so this is not just my opinion. First the good . The atmosphere here is great. Lindsey was just terrific . Now the bad . Started with Calmari $9.00 which is fine but when it arrived there were 7 small pieces , I,m sure the must have run out and served only what... More

This is a detour from the highway that is well worth searching out. It's an unassuming waterside bistro, but with serious chefs and an excellent, enthusiastic and attentive server called Lindsey. We had local pan fried oysters followed by salmon on an asian slaw, local rose and micro brewery local beers. All excellent and perfectly cooked. In this sort of... More

The staff was very nice while we waited for the rest of our party. Bloody Mary? Yes! Special hot recipe upon request. Appetizers for vegetarian? Yes! and the food was great. My point? They could have done less and earned my review. Staff attention was better than required, food was a cut above.

My husband and i have eaten here often over a number of years. The food is good and usually the staff is friendly and nice. I have read the other reviews and have a few comments. Marks is located in an area (Columbia County) that has a very high rate of restaurant failures. So there are times that i know... More

Have been to this restaurant many times over the last several years and have enjoyed ourselves. The service has always been very slow but we were ok with it because the waitstaff are friendly and the view is beautiful. This year the owner has apparently hired a new manager. My husband and I went to dinner the other night and... More
