Special little lunch spot

Great little lunch spot with lots of unusual choices on menu for lunch. Always packed but turns over ever 15min. Service is fast, but the real draw is the hundreds of cakes and deserts, Unbelievable...worth the trip just for cake and a spot of tea. We were disappointed this visit as there was only... read more

We were looking for a place that could do our daughter's wedding cake. This isn't it. We had hoped that they could kick out some serious quality. We bought several cupcakes as samples and the core team (parents, etc.) tried them all. We all grimaced multiple times.

Tres Leches is the nectar of the gods. Lunch with cake is one of Salem's best experiences. My French dip was very good as well and was served with real Kettle chips. I will definitely be back.

Beware! This cake is addicting. My favorite is the coconut cake, OMG it is so good. It is expense tho. $6.50 a slice or about $50 a cake. We normally order slices to go. I had lunch once there, it was great too. When I have a horrible day, I get cake! haha

My 13 yr old daughter and I have made this "our spot". She always orders a brownie, usually the Fudge one and they are super amazing. I always have some type of cheesecake. The food is good but the service and ambiance is better. They have been around forever and this will always be my spot with my girl.

Gerry Frank is a local legend for sure. His cakes are very good but then so are Costco's. The place can be a little chilly in the winter as this is a small place and the door opens directly in from the outside. Somewhat on the expensive side with so-so service. I would stop if I'm nearby but would not... More

This is a quaint little place to have a nice lunch or a wonderful dessert! Mom and I love to meet up and have a bite during the week. Mid price range so wont break the bank.

What a great stop for lunch. Gerry Frank is a local legend, pol, businessman, author, critic, and general raconteur, and his restaurant is a pleasant, busy little place offering decent lunch and sinner fare. We make it a somewhat regular lunch oasis. Sandwiches, salads, and souls are fresh and well plated. The capper, of course, is the dessert menu, featuring... More

Came here for dinner on a Friday night, had only been here for dessert in the past. We were seated right away. For meals, we had a French Dip, which comes with chips and was tasty and filling, Curry Chicken Salad which came with crackers and fruit salad, it is a very large portion and delicious, and the Kearney Street... We are from the area so have been here a lot. There are some good cakes like the lemon and champagne. It is a cute atmosphere. The service is not good. A lot of the cakes taste like Safeway cake. The slices run around $6 (maybe more or less.. can't remember.) I've had better cake though.
