I had dinner there on Labor Day evening after visiting the Oregon State Fair, and decided to try their local lamb entree, served over a port wine reduction in which were succulent sauteed veggies: grape tomatoes, bits of zucchini and small cocktail onions. I could have done without the onions (too sour after the sweetness of the tomatoes and blandness... More

The first night food was great second night overly salty. The mamosa was not the best definitely not worth the 6$ maybe 2$.

Told the bar tender I would be back after sending some emails. Came back 22 minutes before Closing and the doors were locked! What type of hotel restaurant closes before it's time? And I just heard that they extended the hours, well this guy obviously didn't get the memo! 8/12/14 is tonight that I'm speaking of incase you the owner... More

Decent service and excellent food but a little bit expensive for what you get. Not a lot of people, and the ones that are there make the environment awkward. Would recommend the chicken and waffles, as well as the crab stuffed salmon (weekly fresh sheet options sounded good as well). Overall, go for the food, but don't expect the most... More

We took our son and daughter-in-law out for their anniversary dinner, made reservations, the room was almost empty and we got seated right in the middle of the room near the entry. The barren décor was not impressive. There must be a bar located right next to the dining floor separated by a curtain, as we had to listen to... More

We arrived in the lobby area of the restaurant and waited fifteen plus minutes before being recognized and seated. Mind you, there were only four other tables occupied at the time. We then waited twenty minutes before they came to take our order. We ordered our meal and appetizer and the appetizer came within ten minutes. We ordered the Crab/Artichoke... More

The new "cook" must be from a diner. The demi glaze was soup. Had a steak when the "chef" was cooking and was amazing.

On our drive down to Palm Desert we stopped at the Red Lion Hotel in Salem. Since we were tired we decided to stay at the hotel to dine in their restaurant. We then decide the adjacent pub might be good. Our service was excellent. Our server, James Oliver, was awesome. The clam chowder, Fish tacos, ribs and my Buffalo... More

Lovely seasonal and local menu, with a great wine list that includes a smart selection of Willamette Valley wines, as well as other domestics and a few foreign options. The bistro burger is probably the best burger in Salem. And the bar has the best bartender EVER! James Oliver knows everything, including you, your unspoken needs, your drink preferences, what... The view isn't much, but the food is really first rate. We've been twice. First time the prime rib was outstanding. Second time they didn't have prime rib so I bought the fillet mignon instead, and wow. The mashed potatoes they served with it were the best I've ever had. We're looking forward to going again.
