The view isn't much, but the food is really first rate. We've been twice. First time the prime rib was outstanding. Second time they didn't have prime rib so I bought the fillet mignon instead, and wow. The mashed potatoes they served with it were the best I've ever had. We're looking forward to going again.

We went for a family/Friends dinner. The service was slow and rather rude. The food well how can I say this politely...wasn't all it claimed to be. The fish was dry. The prime rib was nothing but fat. Clam chowder which we were told was "Award Winning" was cold, broken and well I've had better out of a can from... More

My girlfriend took me here for a steak tonight. We waited for about 5 minutes to be seated. Things started out ok. We were brought some water. A few minutes later the waiter took our order. By then my water was empty. I watch the water picture to around the room, but never made to our table. After 10 min... More

We got rating, 14th out of 416 for American food. Everything on menu looked great, Butternut soup was very tasty. Apricot burger was yummy. Coffee was uplifting, Carol the waitress was very nice. Plan on bring friends back.

Amazing food! Exceptional taste and presentation. Every time we've been there! The restaurant never seems to be overly busy - I think it's Salem's best kept secret. Chef Yuri and server Casey are both very attentive to any dietary needs and very knowledgeable and personable. The menu is very innovative and there is always an interesting special. Top notch cuisine... More

The on-site restaurant at Red Lion Hotel, Willamette Valley Grill, is a gem. We were not expecting what we experienced. First, the waiter, Casey was great and helped us chose from the specialties, had good advice. The combination of Casey and the exceptional food made it a delightful experience. Unfortunately, we did not get to meet the chef, we were... More

I highly recommend the Willamette Valley Grill. We recently enjoyed dinner for four. Everyone raved about their dinners. Several had their pork chop and it was excellent. Another had their hamburger which has won awards. Everyone was happy with their choice.

The service was professional however our server lacked knowledge of certain key elements of the menu, specifically the wine list. The presentation was lovely however main courses lacked flair. I had the haddock which was tasty however the sauce came across a bit heavy and commercial. My dining mates who had the salmon were unhappy with portion to cost ratio... More

I am new to the Salem area and a friend told me that one of the restaurants I should try was the Willamette Valley Grill. We came in around 7pm and the bar looked busy so we decided to go into the dining room. We sat down and ordered the Ahi Tuna appetizer (fantastic btw). I had a Pork Chop... More

Love the customer service at this hotel and the awesome bar staff, but the menu since a recent turnover leaves me wanting. I'm glad that ordering an English muffin at breakfast gets me both halves, but I miss the better-than-average and sometimes exceptional flavor of the meats and other dishes. So far, I recommend the tomato-basil soup and the wings.... More

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience at the Willamette Valley Grill. Even though the menu has changed I am thankful that you were able to find something off the new menu to enjoy. My personal favorites are the crawfish mac & cheese, and the filet. I hope that you will find more selections... More
