Great food for being in a hotel

Great restaurant. Was a bit cold in there, and would have liked a bathroom INSIDE the restaurant vs going to the hotel lobby, but was great food and excellent service. Was impressed and will be back!

This is a restaurant for The Red Lion Hotel. That particular hotel has so-so ratings and reputation in our area. The restaurant, at first glance, seems promising. The menu isn't expansive but there's a good variety. The staff and atmosphere tries to imply upscale but they they don't quite do it. Some of our food was ok. My steak was... More

This is definitely a cut above most hotel restaurants. The food is generally excellent, though the dinner menu has become more and more limited in the several years we have been dining there. It's surprising they have maintained any consistent quality considering the many changes (it seems) in the kitchen and menu. Sometimes the dinner choices are a bit odd,... More

The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable - the staff cheerful and friendly - the menu had a lot of choices - the prices were reasonable and the food was very good.

This place is kind of hard to find as it is in a major hotel and most people wouldn't think of a night out in this location but that would be a mistake. The hotel is the Red lion and the location is just off I-5. Excellent food and preparation make this worth a try. The staff is friendly and... More

I was staying in the hotel attached to this restaurant and decided to eat dinner here. When I walked into the restaurant there was a sign stating "please seat yourself", so I did just that. I chose a two top, since I was by myself, located near the bar where three staff members and two patrons were chatting it up.... More

I had a hamburger one night and it was terrific. The second night I had salmon, which was cooked perfectly (not overdone) but had a very fishy taste. I was worried about it being old. I did not get sick, but I didn't enjoy the salmon as much as I should have, given how well it was prepared.

We have eaten there several times and love the food. We have been for breakfast and it was great and most for dinner. There steaks are the best in Salem. My wife likes seafood and loves there dishes. Can't beat all you can eat Prime Rib on Sunday nights. Always have had great service as well.

Breakfast was better than limited service hotels and dinners were excellent. Drinks at the bar were very reasonably priced, so I was happy.

Was surprised at the good quality of the food here...much better than I would have expected. The crab and spinach dip had a significant amount of real crab in it and was less mayo-based and really well done, plus lovely thick slabs of toasted bread. The breakfast buffet was good too - decent eggs, great sausages, nice potatoes. Plenty of... More
