Had a great time with a large group listening to the Salem Fire Pipes and Drums and an Irish Dance Group. Was a great atmosphere
The restaurant was extremely helpful and clearly knew the drill making it so easy for me to make decisions. We had our own room called the Wine Nook for 11 people. They had a separate table for delicious appetizers and one for gifts. It was intimate without being claustrophobic. Everyone loved their meal. We had 4 choices and the portions... More
The restaurant itself is still a lovely spot, although looking worn in spots. Our booth had tears in the upholstery that were poorly patched. The biggest disappointment, however, was the food. A couple dishes that we used to really like are no longer on the menu, which also now seems to have less variety and fewer interesting choices.
The restaurant has a very nice selection of entrees to choose from as well as Soup of the day which was delicious, seafood choices, steaks, etc. I can tell you, I didn't have a meal that wasn't excellent.
Bentley's Grill in the Salem Convention Center was the choice location for a group of British women recently. We meet bi-monthly in friends' homes but sometimes venture out on the town for a meal. I decided to see how America presented "Fish & Chips" and requested the sweet potato option. When my plate was served, it received "Oohs and Aahs"... More
Went to Bentley's Grill with business associates. Thought it would be extraordinary but turned out it was just another steak house with several types of steaks but nothing that really wowed our table. As an appetizer I had the coconut prawns with a pineapple salsa, not very flavorful and the prawns were over cooked. I had the Bistro steak which... More

a sterile business traveller's eatery and drinkery ( did I just invent a word? ). Decent service, good food. Well stocked bar. I imagine the place can be a zoo in the middle of a convention or big event. Maybe that is why when you are there during off days, it feels a bit big and empty.
In a survey by the local newspaper, Bentley's was rated the best happy hour in Salem. The happy hour appetizers are delicious and could easily become a meal. Food is delicious and well prepared and the restaurant/bar has a pleasant ambiance.
Thank you so much for the great review on our Happy Hour!! Remember every Wednesday is Ladies Nite, where we offer 12 different items for $4 from 4 to close. We hope to see you soon, Soraida Cross, Special Events Coordinator More
Our reservations put us right by the fire pit with a view of the bar and its rich wood shelves and bottles giving a glow to the room. So comfortable. Our waiter was so easy to work with...we felt like any requests were reasonable. Food choices arrived including a classic ceasar salad with chicken (the small size being perfect with... More
Last visit was awful. When I asked if the fish & seafood on the menu was fresh (had to ask item, by item) the wait person had to keep retuning to the kitchen to get an answer.Turns out that EVERY fish/seafood item on the had been frozen. This place is one hour from the ocean. There is just no excuse... More
