Great taste

Not a huge selection, but what they have is outstanding. Bbq sauces were outstanding. Definitely Texas roots (Podnuh means partner in Texan.) Sides are definitely southern. No fries if you are looking for something 'safe'. Would be glad to come back and bring others.

I had been meaning to stop here since I saw it on Triple-D. Took a work associate from out of town and was not disappointed. Plan on a long wait during the weekend and other peak times. We were lucky and got seated right away since we were only a party of two. I had the Prime Rib special and... More

We'll keep this review short and succulent. While on vacation in Portland recently, we grabbed some BBQ at Podnah's. my two-word summary of the quality?...that would be their Pulled Pork plate...the best I've experienced in my 50+ year search for top quality BBQ. Really, really tasty! Go there!

The food's good. The staff and customers make the experience even better. I can't award full marks because it's a BBQ joint and I'm spoiled by having had some of the best BBQ on the planet in eastern North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, and Memphis. Podnah's does a great job for not having BBQ in their DNA. It's the best I've... More

Excellent BBQ and very good sides. I had the combination platter known as "The PItboss" which gives you beef brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, and a sausage link, cornbread and my two sides were BBQ Beans and Collard Greens. What a feast! One of the best meals I have had in Portland. I could not finish it all because it... More

The pork ribs were fairly tender and had fairly good flavor. Not outstanding like some of the reviews mentioned, maybe because it was later on Sunday evening? The best part of my meal was the flavorful cheesy broccoli side dish, much tastier (and healthier?) compared to the popular mac'n cheese. Our waitress Justine provided excellent, personable service!

First night in PDX and stopped in for some BBQ based on other reviews; glad we did! No wait on a Tuesday night around 7:30pm. Took advantage of the daily special (all day rib and draft happy hour) and enjoyed a local cider. We ordered the chopped brisket sandwich, green chili mac n' cheese, cornbread, and the ribs ($50). The... More

I mean, who doesn’t love messy, delicious bbq? This place is worth the wait, and yes you will be waiting about 30-45 minutes for a table. My best recommendation is to either order the sampler meal or make sure everyone orders something different and eat everything you can. The brisket was my favorite.

Visited with friends after reading reviews. I must say the place itself is not bad, the service was good and friendly, the food was very very good but a group of 4 youngsters at the adjoining table were loud and couple that with loud music was a little bit annoying. The food we had, pulled pork, brisket, were fantastic. All... More

Delicious barbecue and we usually bring guests when they are in town. The meat is good and the sides are always tasty - we usually try to order a variety of food and share.
