Ribs & Brisket

I would go back but my focus would be Ribs or Beef Brisket, both were awesome!!! Pulled pork, okay. Sausage once was enough. Sides were good cole slaw and barbecue baked beans. Corn bread needs help, dry and no corn. Place is worth the visit, super nice people and the ribs and beef brisket are... read more

Great little restaurant in the middle of a residential area of north Portland. All the typical offerings brisket, pulled pork, chicken etc. I tried the combo plate which had brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and ribs. Also included 2 sides one of which was jalepena mac and cheese that was great. It was all very goods but thought the ribs were... More

Our favorite thing to do when we get to a new town is go find some great BBQ. The pulled pork sandwich and greens are excellent. Good cornbread and you can't end this type of meal without some pecan pie! Great service, beautiful atmosphere.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times in the past and we keep coming back because it is so good. The meat is outstanding the ribs are delicious I don't care for the sausage but everybody else does but if you come after 5 o'clock keep your fingers crossed that they've got their macaroni and cheese it is so... Must admit that I am not a big meat eater but I really was not impressed. Sampled brisket and ribs and they seemed rather boring...totally needed extra sauce. The sides were quite good...jalapeno mac and cheese and broccali cassarole were particularly good. Not sure it's worth the trip for a somewhat pedestrian meal.

Friends had raved about the BBQ at Podnahs, so my grandson and I decided to try it out. We decided this is the best BBQ we have had outside Texas and Memphis. We focused on the ribs so we can not speak to other items except baked beans and black eye Texas salad. These were very good. So to sum... More

I judge all bbq places but the tenderness of the meats and the quality of their collard greens. Podnah's does both very well. sauces were good one more vinegary with hot pepper the other nice spicy sauce. Waitress very friendly and helpful. We went during lunch on rib day. Weekend breakfast sounds amazing. Banana pudding was nice finish.

Visited for lunch today and the food was wonderful. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and chicken. All were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The only thing I didn't care for was the all meat chili. It tasted more like a birria (traditional Mexican meal) then chili. Service was fast and friendly.

Visiting from the mid-Atlantic, I didn't think Portland had good Q possibilities. This restaurant, tucked into a neighborhood with lines out the door, proved me wrong. Past the big crowds, I hit the bar and got fast ribs, brisket and a huge side of Mac N Cheese. All dynamite: the ribs smoky and good chew, the brisket buttery, and Mac... More

Finally made it to Podnah's and was not disappointed. The service was very good and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had the Pit Boss which was a good variety of smoked meats and two sides (enough for two). All of the meat was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The only negative is if you like your smoked meat... More
