I was disappointed by the outcome our due to false time estimation and the employee attitude definitely not worth the hour and a half wait when they estimated 30 minutes

If ever in Portland, OR, don't miss this one. The meats are perfectly smoked and cooked. The sauces are perfectly blended. The sides are seasoned the best I've ever tasted. I had the sliced brisket sandwich, collard greens and BBQ beans. The whole meal was awesome. My companions all agreed, one having the chopped brisket sandwich, one the tacos, and one... More

Brisket melts in your mouth. Ribs are a little sweet with a dry rub and doesn't even need sauce. The chicken and pork were good, but not the best I've had. The sausage is very spicy so not for wimps or wimpettes. I wish I had room for the banana pudding dessert! They have great drinks and tap beer. Staff... More

This was our first trip to Portland, and we polled many locals to find the best eats. Several folks pointed us to Podnah's, and it did not disappoint. The BBQ was excellent. The pulled pork was my favorite. The coleslaw and cornbread sides were excellent too. Go early because they fill up quickly!

If you're looking for a taste of good ole, southern comfort AKA brisket, sausage, collard greens, pulled pork, margaritas and Shiner Bock..then look no further...as you've found it in Podnah's Pit BBQ. We enjoyed lunch at Podnah's on the 4th of July and couldn't have been happier. The meat is tender, smoky goodness on a plate. The sides are a... More

I took my daughter here for lunch after we'd spent almost two hours kayaking Portland's rivers. The service was fast, and the bartender was friendly and knew his stuff. The coleslaw with a jalapenos was our favorite. Nice twist, and the heat was not overpowering. The bbq was excellent, with the chicken perfectly cooked; the cornbread was warm, fresh. There... More

Reservations are essential and they easily accommodated our extended 13 family gathering with all saying it was worth the effort to find. Parking is a challenge as spot is located in an older neighborhood of NE Portland. Check out website for the menu and choice of great slow cooked meats. Definitely will return the next time my wife and I... More

We have been meaning to try Podnah's for a long time and finally made it in there. We had no idea it would be SO busy on a late Sunday evening. We had about half an hour wait to be seated. It was worth the wait. The food was very good. One of us ordered the Pit Boss platter, one... More

Podnah's does not take reservations, and they do not seat your party until everyone is there. So have a cold German beer at the counter like we did. On a Sunday night we got there at 5pm for my dad's birthday dinner. I'm glad we did because the restaurant filled up fast. They have seating outside, but we chose to... More

We made the mistake of deciding to eat here on Father's Day. Fortunately, because it was just my husband and me, we were seated right away, since most of the parties were families waiting for the larger tables. Lucky us! I had the three way plate: brisket, ribs and pulled pork. Ahhh, so very delicious. Paired it with the collard... More
