Oaxacan in Portland? Yes!

Our first outing to Trebol, and we had a nice time and a good meal. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was interesting and well presented. We most enjoyed the "taco sampler", which consisted of four different small tacos; chicken, beef, fish and wild boar. They offer a number... read more

Let me start with something positive: my margaritas were very good. However, I wanted some food too. Luckily, I got my happy hour order in, and had some snack size inauthentic tacos before the service dried up and turned downright nasty. We were there to celebrate the retirement of a beloved colleague. Fortunately, I don't think she was subjected to... More

We had a coupon to use for this poor excuse for a restaurant; I should have torn it up. The restaurant claims that it uses organic, local, ingredients for their "mexican" fare. They precook everything, the guacamole is factory made and they charge eight dollars for two ounces of this disgust. Please stay away; the food is lukewarm, tasteless, and... More

This was our third trip to Trebol. The first was with friends who we had not seen in a while, so we were distracted from the food by conversation. The second was on a much needed "sans kids" evening, so again, we were distracted form the food. This time we were out for just great food with great service. It... More

Friends had raved about Trebol so we were anxious to try it. The atmosphere is pleasant, but very noisey and certainly not a 'date' spot. We ordered a selection of items from the appetizer menu and several entrees for the table. We were disappointed in the size of the portions relative to the cost. I was also disappointed in the... The bamboo outside gave shelter to this hideaway, once inside we were promptly seated and our waiter(Nic) was right there to ask for drink orders. As always I ask the server about their favorite items (the help should always be allowed to taste the food so they can recommend it) Nic was very knowledgeable and got us on the right... More

Four of us went to Trebol for the first time recently, and all came away being very happy and satisfied. Creative cooking, great service, nice ambiance, and an out of the way location make this a must for those enjoying Mexican inspired cuisine at its best.

If you want Mexican cuisine that is a stray from the usual tacos, etc, try this place. I am adventurous in my choice of restaurants so that is why I like this place. The entrees are hit and miss at times, but the pork is incredible. I appreciate the attention to local and some organic foods. The margaritas are terrific... More

The atmosphere is pleasant, the service is good, but the food is too unusual to be really good. That being said, my fish tacos were excellent! Great flavor! My husband's enchiladas with cactus in the filling were only so-so. Three people had the enchiladas and no one said anything as they were eating them. Not a good sign! But the... More
