I have had fried chicken all over the US - including top rated places in Charleston, New Orleans and Savannah - and this is place is in the top 3. Crispy flavorful coating while keeping the inside juicy and tender. The sides were good, but not as good a the chicken. Portions so large we had no room for dessert.

We ate here with our two young kids. The food was good, but the price tag was high. This was the most expensive breakfast we've ever had - we were even charged 50 cents extra for the whipped cream on our hot cocoa! My husband thought his biscuits and gravy were just ok, but I loved my bananas foster french... More

If I saved a place in line for a party over a dozen people who arrived late, wouldn't that be wrong to seat them ahead of other people who arrived first? Without fail, we were let down after eating at one of the highest rated restaurants in Portland. We arrived 15 minutes before opening to a line that wasn't too... More

We went here Wednesday for brunch and there was 20 minute wait but, well worth it. I would have waited an hour to eat here. Me and my son had chicken and waffles and my wife had biscuits and gravy. The chicken was the best I've had and chicken, waffle, and syrup was so good together. I can't wait to go... More

Me and my husband were really excited to try the fried chicken at Screen Door, and didn't mind waiting the 30 minutes to get our table. We ordered chicken tenders and soup to start, which were really yummy. Because we knew the portions would be huge, we decided to share the fried chicken entree. When we received our meal, the... Went during the week. While flavors of food where good, the food was lukewarm. My breakfast companion had food served in 2 stages, eggs had come separately. The food had been served after I started eating. Place was half full so kitchen shouldn't have been overburdened. Service very friendly. There are many places to have breakfast.

For our 1st visit we were entertaining new friends so we took a chance based on previous reviews. We were not disappointed. Everyone in our group of 6 was was delighted with their breakfast. The chicken and waffle is incredible, moist breast and huge waffle. Ditto for the praline bacon waffle and the veggie frittata. Our waitress, Brooke, was patient... More

I had shrimp and grits, thin sliced pork chop, collard green, gumbo, and fried okra. Out of these items, my favorite was pork chop. Having lived in New Orleans and worked in SC I think I am much more critical of southern food and Cajun food. It was very good atmosphere and waiters are remarkably quick with the service. I...
