Good sushi and atmosphere

Looked on trip advisor and found Mash Sushi. Its downtown Portland and a great area. Its upstairs and has a modern but old twist on decor. We had a very attentive waiter and the sushi and kimchi was really good. I will definitely come back when in Portland again.

We liked the place, our first visit to a sushi place in Portland. The fish was fresh, presented well, and tasted great! It was busy which is always good for sushi. Service was a tad slow with drinks.

The food was good. Creative rolls, nice sauces, friendly staff, and very accommodating to us having a young toddler.

Masu Sushi kept showing up online as the best sushi around in Portland. We didn't have an opportunity to sample several sushi restaurants, but were most pleased with our experience at Masu. The extensive menu made it hard to decide, but our charming server helped with descriptions in answer to our questions. Food, ambiance, service - everything was first rate!

A group of 8 of us shared a fantastic meal of cooked delicacies, sake, and sushi. We relied mostly on our server's recommendation on what to order, and he guided us perfectly. A great meal.

Amazing!! I was a little upset at the $40 cab ride from the airport, but the sushi was totally worth it! The sushi chef gave me some kind of sweet/sour/spicy sauce that was out of this world! I had to order more sushi just to get more sauce! Will definitely go back!

Every bite was delicious! Fresh fish, Unique presentation, relaxing atmosphere. Excellent service. We sat at the bar and watched the food prep- great knife skills, beautiful and tasty morsels edomae style sushi. Can't be beat.

Masu Sushi serves very fresh, tasty sushi in an upstairs, upscale restaurant. A bit pricy, but if you arrive before 6PM, you're on the Happy Hour menu and can save $$. The lotus plate was wonderful as was the eggplant with miso. I'll make the Happy Hour again!

We were going to a sushi place closer to our hotel, but went to Masu Sushi after reading tripadvisor. We were SO happy we did. We had the miso soup, which was amazingly rich. We also shared two rolls, which we highly recommend: Death by Sushi and St Helen's Volcano. Both were excellent and very reasonably priced! A little difficult... More

The food was fresh enough, but the presentation was completely uninspired. Service was off putting and painfully slow. Cocktail glasses sat empty, and finally even the water glasses. Not what we expected for an upscale Japanese restaurant in the down town core. (The one in our small town in Central Oregon runs circles around this place in every regard.)
