Masu Sushi Rocks!

Amazing!! I was a little upset at the $40 cab ride from the airport, but the sushi was totally worth it! The sushi chef gave me some kind of sweet/sour/spicy sauce that was out of this world! I had to order more sushi just to get more sauce! Will definitely go back!

Every bite was delicious! Fresh fish, Unique presentation, relaxing atmosphere. Excellent service. We sat at the bar and watched the food prep- great knife skills, beautiful and tasty morsels edomae style sushi. Can't be beat.

Masu Sushi serves very fresh, tasty sushi in an upstairs, upscale restaurant. A bit pricy, but if you arrive before 6PM, you're on the Happy Hour menu and can save $$. The lotus plate was wonderful as was the eggplant with miso. I'll make the Happy Hour again!

We were going to a sushi place closer to our hotel, but went to Masu Sushi after reading tripadvisor. We were SO happy we did. We had the miso soup, which was amazingly rich. We also shared two rolls, which we highly recommend: Death by Sushi and St Helen's Volcano. Both were excellent and very reasonably priced! A little difficult... More

The food was fresh enough, but the presentation was completely uninspired. Service was off putting and painfully slow. Cocktail glasses sat empty, and finally even the water glasses. Not what we expected for an upscale Japanese restaurant in the down town core. (The one in our small town in Central Oregon runs circles around this place in every regard.)

Some of the finest and most-original Japanese-inspired cuisine in Portland. -Great service -Original dishes -Friendly staff -Warm ambience - Doesn't feel 'pretentious' -Try and grab a spot near the windows, fun to people watch (somewhat limited views) I highly recommend anything the chef makes utilizing mushrooms.... Incredible.

Had creative combinations of sushi plates! Also tried the kimchi, was great and had their own take, certainly-- little pricey though!

This is one of the few sushi restaurants that I have enjoyed where the sushi chef is not Japanese now trained in Japan. Nonetheless, his preparation and plating was near flawless and the raw fish was some of the fresh-est I've seen in recent years. Take a seat at the sushi bar and enjoy watching, asking and ordering. I heartily... More

We were visiting from out of town and found this place up on Tripadvisor, what a great time we had. Service was fast and friendly, they really are organized well to take great care of patrons. Food was excellent and fresh, drinks selection very nice. Prices we felt were very reasonable considering we were downtown. The atmosphere was especially nice.... More

I love to try new places, but this is one of the places I find myself coming to often. I've probably been here 20 times or so. First of all, it's in a wonderful neighborhood. Downstairs is Cacao, a gourmet chocolate shop where, if open, I stop in to grab some drinking chocolate. Within a couple blocks are Powell's Books,... More
