Had lunch at the sushi bar - the staff made me feel very welcome, the service excellent. The sushi was very fresh - the tuna melted in my mouth. It is worth noting that when I first visited Portland and asked quite a few people to name good local restaurants, every one of them mentioned Masu Sushi.

I have been to quite a few sushi restaurants as sushi is one of my favorite foods, but I was blown away by the service and quality at Masu. The edamame was to die for and the sushi and sashimi were delicious. The drinks were tasty and fun (try the Hello Kitty). Restaurant staff was very friendly and accommodating. I... More

Went with three couples on a Sun. Menu was unique but still had some traditional rolls and dishes. Cost was reasonable. Service a little slow. Overall a good place to try. Sushi of the day was albacore tuna was great.

An employee at “Under U 4 Men” (an amazing men’s underwear store) raved about "Masu" and insisted I eat there instead of at the spot my hotel recommended. He said it would be the best sushi I ever had! Now, I have been to Japan couple of times so I was skeptical then pleasantly surprised! Edamame, pickles and crab were... More

Really enjoy this sushi place. was introduced to it by a friend that lives in Portland, and have gone back every time I am in portland ever since. The Volcano roll and Hello Kitty Drink are really fun and yummy. The menu is very different, but Portland is a foodie town, so different is good. All the rolls I have... More

We felt like having something Japanese for dinner and happened to be in the vicinity, so on a random Google Maps search found this place and decided to give it a shot. Overall it was a pretty good dining experience. The food was very, very well made - the miso soup was probably the best I have ever eaten and... More

We just finished our meal there. We picked after checking the reviews. We were really disappointed, we expected excellent food and ambience. Service was good and staff are friendly. But the food.... Never had worse sushi. The wrap falling apart and the ingredients don't meet any standards. The place is nice and authentic but I didn't like the smell of... More

We enjoy Japanese, but when looking at the menu, I had to ask a lot of questions because I did not recognize a lot of the items so maybe I am just used to something very different. The menu was pretty small and unless you want sushi, the only other vegetarian entree option is the kimchi fried rice (which as... More

Small portions but food was very tasty. More Japanese fusion than authentic Japanese. Casual atmosphere. Our server was attentive and efficient. Host gave us a list of things to do after we told him it was our first time to Portland and that we were heading to the Gorge and up the coast over the next few days. Very friendly... More

Was it great, no, was it terrible, no. Far from these reviews which makes me ponder the value of these reviews. Saki served in regular drink glasses, sushi was simple, small for the fee, nothing to brag about. It simply was ok. Ambiance, room is open, nice but nothing authentic Japanese. Dining w people in shorts and t shirts. I... More
