Small portions but food was very tasty. More Japanese fusion than authentic Japanese. Casual atmosphere. Our server was attentive and efficient. Host gave us a list of things to do after we told him it was our first time to Portland and that we were heading to the Gorge and up the coast over the next few days. Very friendly... More

Was it great, no, was it terrible, no. Far from these reviews which makes me ponder the value of these reviews. Saki served in regular drink glasses, sushi was simple, small for the fee, nothing to brag about. It simply was ok. Ambiance, room is open, nice but nothing authentic Japanese. Dining w people in shorts and t shirts. I... More

I came here for dinner and was expecting MUCH more from the reviews I had read here and elsewhere on other websites. The short story is : beware, this place is VERY OVERPRICED !!! and over hyped and simply average sushi is all there is here. The interior is nice enough and pleasant but absolutely there is nothing great or... More

We dined at this restaurant on the Sunday of last Memorial Day weekend. It was pretty much decided in advance that we'd order the Omakase based off of the overall great reviews of this restaurant. However, we were greatly disappointed when our most gracious waitress advised us that they had been so tremendously busy the past couple of days over... More

Great prices for delicious sushi. We sampled various dishes, all excellent, good options for those who don't eat raw fish also. Good saki.

I can't believe this place has such high rating on the app. Crazy!! We came here around 2pm and there was only another table of guest dining there. But we waited for our plates for more than 20mins! And that's not just it! The sushi we order was way below average! I can believe that they charge so high on... More

We recently visited Portland and went to Masu Sushi because it was close to our hotel and after spending a lot of time in Japan, we generally try out Japanese restaurants in most places we go. We knew very little about this restaurant in advance and were greatly impressed. We started with miso soup, which was possibly the best we... More

Very good place for groups or couples as the dining room is large, airy/open and yet somehow not too noisy or dull like a cafeteria. Excellent sushi but not the most creative rolls I've ever had, which is why only 4 stars. Very fresh tasting. We have been here twice on two separate trips and it was excellent both times.... More

I had high expectations going in. I ate by myself at the bar which is actually nice as its probably half the seating in the place. The space is high ceiling loft like. Staff is great. Lots of sake on the menu. Sushi was good. Above average. Not fantastic.

We've been to Masu Sushi a number of times and are never disappointed. In addition to excellent sushi and sashimi, the cooked food is also excellent. On our last visit we enjoyed the calamari, the japanese miso-eggplant flash fried and dressed with kyoto miso, and especially the grilled mackerel. My son loved the tonkotsu ramen kyushu-style pork bone broth. Service... More
