I've lived in Portland for 2 months now and have returned 3 times to Toro Bravo. I will warn you that if you do not go within the first open hour then you will be waiting on a very long line. If you drink then it's not a problem because there is a funky little pub upstairs from the restaurant... More

We went to dinner at 6:00 on a Sunday. We had to wait an hour and it was well worth it. We ordered four tapas plates and a paella. All were delicious and more than adequate. The atmosphere is quite loud (we were lucky enough to sit in a small side room with three tables which was quite manageable noise... More

My friend and I ordered several plates to get a broad overview of the menu offerings - spanish tortilla, octopus tapa, and scallops entree, and a pork dish. We sat at the bar and received exemplary service. I can't wait to go back! And, the upstairs lounge happened to have an old-time country swing band. It was pure family fun!

Wonderful menu, wonderful service, wonderful food next to the Wonder Ballroom! You need to not be in a hurry to eat here. Try several tapas and just eat and enjoy

Just back from a visit to Portland, and what a great city for anyone who loves good food! We were taken to Toro Bravo by cousins native to the city, and the food at this restaurant lived up to all of their praise (for some in the group it is their favorite restaurant). Even though there on a Sunday night,... More

Had a late dinner there last night with my wife. We were lucky and got a seat at the bar. It is a very vibrant restaurant and noisy but the service and food was really special. Kyle at the bar was very attentive and an expert bartender, the waiters and waitresses were engaged, prompt, and provided a great experience for... More

I was told this place is always packed and it's true. We arrived 15 minutes before the doors opened and there were at least 40 people in line. We got in and were shown to 2 seats at the bar. Everyone is friendly, including the other patrons. Food is DE-LI-CIOUS! I even had a bit of octupus. The arugula blood... More

In Portland for the weekend, so we checked Trip Advisor to find a good restaurant to try. After reading several reviews, we selected Toro Bravo. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened and found a line of people waiting. Everyone in line was friendly and offered their suggestions on what we needed to try. We were lucky and got in... More

We arrived at a little before six and much to our relief we were immediately seated at the chef's bar. Toro Bravo has a long menu of tapas and we were getting ready to put in our votes as to what we should try when we noticed the tasting menu for $30, no substitutions allowed. The server would not even... More

Every time I walk into Toro Bravo, I think to myself "Is this it? Is this the last supper?" Can it live up to the last meal I had here? Will it disappoint me this time? Every time I leave with my mouth full of explosive flavor. I have to tell you, I think every time I go, I have... More
