Outstanding Portland Tapas Bar

Visited twice in the past 6 years (one in 2009, and again in 2015). Both experiences were excellent. The food is unique, flavorful, and fun. On my two trips, the group of individuals all have varying tastes, but we ended up sharing a wide array of menu items. No items disappointed on either trip... read more

Small restaurant with an hour wait for two, but well worth it. We waited in the corner area and started there with cocktails and three different kisses, all three delicious. My favorite kiss was the New York Kiss. Equally wonderful was my cocktail, the Basque Kiss. The two of us were absolutely stuffed. It was a delicious meal of tapas... More

Not for the faint of heart. If you survive the wait, be prepared to sit amongst total strangers. But this is Portland so you will all be friends by the end of the night. Lots of small plates, some at outrageous prices, others fairly priced. $12 for 3 or 4 small shrimp, and they weren't even peeled, $8 for a... More

We arrived right after the five o'clock opening and had to wait maybe 20 minutes for spots at the bar. No reservations so even on a quiet Sunday night you might have to wait to be seated. Princess and I had 6 tapas and a nice bottle of wine for $110 (I'm not so familiar with Spain wines and glad... More

This is a small place with a huge reputation. My wife and I came by on a Monday evening, before 6 and the wait time for a couple was already more than 30 min. We decided to give it a try, and had a couple of red sangria glasses while waiting. We tried 3 trapas, and they were all good.... More

Finally, we could visit this place, and after our last vacation, we were craving authentic tapas. We couldn't be luckier. We sat at the bar and tried the patatas bravas or big potatoe pieces topped with spicy homemade romanesco sauce. The octopuss -the two versions on the menu- were very tasty and tender.

$40 per person paid for around 10 dishes. All very tasty and beautifully presented. Did not leave hungry. Servers were very helpful and attentive. My wife had the sangria which was dry but once you got used to it it was really nice.

Could not wait to bring my husband and son to this place, based on my experience here last year. We ordered the chef's tasting menu, just like last year. It's quite reasonably priced at $40 per person. And they tell u you'll get 9-12 courses, but don't get too excited. Each taste is just that.... A taste. Some were descent,... More

My husband and I went here for date night and got there shortly after it opened and had no wait. We got a little table tucked over in the corner of a side room and it was very romantic and cute. The food was very good, though it's extremely meat heavy. I don't recommend this place for vegetarians, but if... More

We really enjoyed our night at Toro Bravo. Sangria and octopus are must. Charcuterie board and cheese board make a good combination too. Overall great experience!
