Hvaing studied abroad in Barcelona, I was excited to visit Toro Bravo and see if it measured up. Of course there are regional variances to Spanish cuisine, but Toro Bravo did quite well for my tastes. We ordered three tapas and shared them (I was with one other person) and then we ordered the paella to share as well. The... More

I was in town for a meeting and my group decided this is where we should go for dinner. There were 5 of us and knowing this place fills up quickly, we went in right at 5pm on a Tuesday. We ordered a ton of items. The portions were good enough that 5 of us got a "try" of everything.... More

Have had this place on the gotta go list for some time now. Looked at the menu online and wondered if we could do this. Well started with Fava beans & ham, followed by tomato rubbed bread, grilled corn & pesto, empanada with chorizo sausage and pulled pork sandwich. Wow, the first one was great and each one kept getting... More

Our children invited us to dinner. This was, of course, very flattering. And they picked a place that they really liked, Toro Bravo in the rehabilitated neighborhood on the east side of the Willamete River. Parking around the restaurant was easy at 6 PM on a Wednesday. Entering, we found ourselves in a single large room, perhaps fifty feet on... More

I absolutey love this place! I even have teh cookbook and make things out of it from time to time. The tapas are perfectly portioned and really amazing. I really like a lot of things on the menu but some of the things I always order are: bacon wrapped dates, harrisa butternut squash, radicchio salad, fresh pasta, grilled flat bread...seriously... our concierge recommended we go here and it was awful. they were out of the top entree plates and the small things we got weren't anything special. i am very disappointed that we wasted our only dinner in portland on this restaurant.

My wife and I headed over to visit one of Portland's most talked about restaurants with the expectation of a long night waiting for a table with an expensive menu that would have your average "too cool" service. Jumble that around and you get what we had - a 5 minute wait for an outside table where we had prompt... More

We were told to expect a wait to get in for dinner....either waiting n line before,4 pm to get in, or, waiting for a table after they open. We got there and in line at ten till four. Could not believe people were already lined up. When they opened at four the wait staff was lovely. We asked to sit... More

Without reservations, we three were able to avoid a long wait, by eating at the bar. Really good tapas- very nice menu, and good selection of beers and wine by the glass. Pretty backed in, so you do have to speak up to keep the conversation going. Quite enjoyable. In a mostly residential stretch, easy to park, and easy to... More

I found Toro Bravo on trip advisor while visiting Portland, my husband and I love tapas so we went early and there was already a lineup. We waited at the cute standup bar with a beverage and several other people. The wait is worth it, we were seated at the bar overlooking the kitchen, it was very entertaining to watch... More
