The restaurant setting is nice, although not in a sophisticated fashion. Too noisy and somewhat poorly decorated. Casual and fit for young adults, who pack the house. I had fried cheese cubes on a bed of Romanesque sauce as appetizer: sloppy plated and too salty. The $7 green salad was a bunch of leaves from Costco overdressed with lemon juice.... More

That night I was looking for something special, something a little different and tasteful to share with my girlfriend. I found all these things a Clyde Commons. The staff was very friendly and and the food was mouth watering. Ordering off the happy hour was a great addition to the wonderful night. The drinks were very tasteful and well balanced.... More

This place was voted one of the best happy hours in Portland. So of course I had to check it out. I went with a few friends during the holidays. This place gets busy! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere and decor compliment the mood of this bar/restaurant. The happy hour menu is diverse and gives you lots of... More

Enjoyed a very good Sunday late breakfast here in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. I appreciated being able to try the cornbread in place of toast with my basic breakfast order and was glad to get my eggs as ordered. Others in our group of four were also very satisfied with their respective dishes including eggs benedict and French toast.... More

Portland likes to think of itself as smarter than your average hound dog, way smarter than Elvis, for instance. The front house crew here, head wait, bartender, may choose to be chatty only with people who mirror their own cultural bag of tricks. The cocktails are excellent in flavor and balance. They are highly communicative with people they consider to... More

Walking downtown, looking for an interesting place to have something to eat and drink on a Sunday morning. Friendly and efficient bartender who knows how to make a drink - Tequila Sunrise and a Clamato Bloody Mary - forgot the name for it. Ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and Poached Eggs also Eggs Benedict - LIFE CHANGING good stuff! As... More

I had a client in from out of town recently and he wanted to have a Portland type experience, so we decided to have drinks and appetizers at Clyde Common after our meeting. Clyde Common did not disappoint. The bartender, festooned with a full beard, black-rimmed glasses and a slightly snarky attitude was perfect. We ordered a couple of glasses... More

My husband and I happened on this restaurant for happy hour. They have great priced drinks and appetizers during happy hour that are hard to pass. Favorites: Bourbon Renewal, simple green salad, french fries, 6oz burger. I really enjoyed their popcorn the first time we went, but when we returned the popcorn had a spicy seasoning that we did not... More

We popped in for happy hour, having enjoyed a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar the night before. The menu is very limited but all we wanted was a drink and a snack, so it seemed ideal. From the get-go, the waitress seemed to dislike us. She was disdainful, unfriendly and slow. Maybe a bad day for her, but we certainly... More

Clyde Common adjacent the Ace Hotel lobby ws just as good on our second visit as the first. Primarily, they simply prepare and cook everything very attentively, eggs are poached just right...hash browns homemade with flavor and flair, all the plates look appetizing are served at the right food temperature and taste good. Weekend brunch which opens @ 10am may... More
