About 18 months ago I gave Clyde Common a far more positive review. Since that time I have had two very average meals there. The menu choices are fewer and the food simply not as good as it once was. Then there is their wildly over-priced wine list that only had three or four bottles in the $35 to $40... More

We went here for a business dinner with a large group and they were very accommodating. They had prepared a family style dinner, so the menu was preselected for us. The food was all very good and the desert was excellent. I'll definitely go back when I'm back in Portland.

I went to Clyde Common with a friend in late February and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, the whiskey cocktails and the very good but modestly portioned food. If you want a great bar-restaurant atmosphere and haven't got a very big appetite, this must be THE place to go in central Portland. On second thoughts, maybe the portions weren't that... More

Clyde common is a very cozy place to dine. The bar offers good drinks and the dining area is arranged in such a way that the kitchen is very visible and I enjoyed watching the chefs prepared our food. The executive chef, Carlo Lamagna, was very hospitable, he immediately approached us as we entered the place. The food was excellent... More

Clyde Common came highly recommended for both food and drink, and I was glad to be able to visit during a recent trip to Portland. I love the open kitchen, and the service was great. I went for something different for brunch -- lamb andouille, shelling beans, arugula pesto and poached eggs, with hash browns on the side. It was... More

This restaurant is in the Ace Hotel building. We rocked up expecting it to be good, but not great. It was great. We ended up going back three times and each time the food was outstanding, the service friendly and efficient and the room a buzz of energy. Tremendous

Next to the Ace Hotel, this restaurant features amazing cocktails and mixology with infused spirits and an evolving dinner menu. Think of salmon cheeks, sweetbreads, patès, charcuterie. If there's a wait you can walk through to the Ace and relax on their gigantic couch.

Hard to describe. A real diverse crowd, good imaginative menu and cocktails, good staff. Just a lot of fun and energy along with the food and drink. Try it out for a drink and if you like the energy, stay for dinner

We've visited Clyde Common several times, and my principal reaction to the place is one of confusion. On various occasions we have enjoyed interesting food, killer cocktails, and stellar service. On other visits, we've been disappointed by remarkably inferior menu selections, indifferently-prepared drinks, and perfunctory service. Most often it's a mix of both. One experience bears relating: after enjoying a... More

My wife and I have had about 12 meals in past 8 weeks while visiting Portland. This place pushes the envelope and is cutting edge...feels like farm to form on steroids. When we first came they had a chef that did amazing whole ox tail braised for 2-4 people. It was amazing and rich. Maybe to rich. But amazing. Another... More
