Stopped here as per the suggestion of someone working at the Sentinel hotel - was not disappointed. Loved that the water was served in old milk jugs. The breakfast was delicious and the portions were perfect, just enough food. Loved being able to watch the chef cook. The service was great - the waitress was very attentive and friendly. My... More

We are astounded at the reviews this restaurant receives. Unlike most writers, we had no complaints with the waitstaff. The food, on the other hand, was dreadful. We have eaten and enjoyed pastrami from Boston to San Diego. This "deli" came highly recommended by the bellman at our hotel as well as by many Tripadvisor writers. Yet the pastrami (and... More

It's a decent attempt at being a NY deli, but the food is hit-and-miss (avoid the french toast; some of the meat-based dishes are good, but not the meatloaf). The problem is the terrible service: they took our reservation for a large table and then gave away the table (even though we showed up before our reservation time). It then... More

Awesome scent, so we knew we were in for a good meal and this place did not disappoint. Water served in small old milk bottles and NY style deli sandwiches to rave about. We had the Classic Reuben with corn beef and the Pastrami Sandwich. Meat piled high and tasty. Service was just average for a busy lunch time. I... More

Small restaurant. We stood around for a while despite there being open tables. Our waitress was a little slow but she was sweet which made up for the service. You get an awful lot of food for a great price. The turkey pastrami is really good albeit on the dry side, it is turkey afterall. My husband has eaten there... More

We waited a long time to be seated while the hostess did other busy work. Food also took a long time to arrive. I have to give credit where it is due though: I had the "222" (2 scrambled eggs, 2 beef pastrami pieces and 2 latkes) and a plain bagel with maple-walnut cream cheese. The food was absolutely delicious... More

We loved it so much we went twice. Breakfast was better than lunch. The atmosphere is fun and the food was very good!

This is everything one can expect from a New York Deli: enormous sandwiches overflowing with salt beef, turkey or pastrami, a selection of desserts, tasty soups. Our waitress was friendly and for the price, you get an inordinate amount of food. The Ruben Dog was extremely good.

Ordered: Pastrami sandwich and pastrami cheese fries We previously walked by and saw a massive line up. Assuming that it should be a good option since there were so many people waiting we stopped by here before leaving Portland in the late afternoon. The restaurant was close to being empty with the staff just chatting around. Super salty pastrami with... More
