High expectations

I really wanted to like this restaurant given all the accolades to Chef Ricker. Perhaps, because I'm Asian I expected something different. We started with the wings which were tasty. The we had the whole game hen which was good, but the two sauces are what make it. One is a green spicy sauce like a... read more

All the food we had there was good, but we had the chicken wings 3 times in the 5 days we were in Portland and they're still my favorite! The place looks pretty run-down and the wait is very long so try to get there as soon as they open or even a little before if you don't want to... More

very unique spot. pricey but worth it. the large number of people waiting for a table was a pretty good indication of its popularity. the service was casual but carried out in a professional manner. the flavors were over the top. we had several different dishes all of which were spectacular. i rarely get wings but was happy i did... trued them after seeing him on Anthony Bourdain. As good as promised! Really authentic Thai street food just like we had in Bangkok. The signature Chicken wings were meaty & delicious, we had the spicy, just right hit of serious spice. A bland Papaya salad. The pork skewers with Peanut sauce- excellent and the crispy crepe was just like we... More

Best wings in Portland. The place isn't fancy but the thai inspired flavors are incredible. Pok Pok continues to be one of top ranked restaurants in Portland year after year.

Saw some reviews that said Pok Pok was not worth the wait, so we hesitated when the hostess said it would be 45-55 minutes for a table - but we're glad we put our name on the list. Food was terrific and very different from standard North American Thai food. We had the wild boar with chilies and the eggplant,... More

My daughter was bound and determined to eat here, so we waited an insane amount of time - 1 hr 45 min - to be seated. BUT the food was unique and delicious and the server was extraordinary. He explained everything we had questions about and made great suggestions. All of the good was great! Water is flavored and weird... More

Food gets a 5 but the service gets a 2. We had a long wait and the staff wasn't friendly when we were finally seated. We totally expected to wait but there's a bit of "you're so lucky to eat here" in the air that service suffers a bit. Let this be a heads up, but definitely eat at Pok... More
