Iorio Restaurant in SE Portland has been around for years but hasn't gotten the attention or press as lots of other Portland Italian restaurants. It's our secret, so don't tell too many people. Reservations are not difficult to get, parking is easy and the food is REALLY good and reasonably priced. Pastas are homemade and everything is fresh. A nice... More

What a charming restaurant! Casual and decorated darling, just like being in a restaurant in Italy. They had a flamingo guitarist playing while we ate, so neat. Iorio is the name of the owners grandmother and there is a section where the guitarist plays that has pictures of her. So special. Now the food! Eight of went and had different... More

Recently had a mid-week, mid-evening reservation for 6 people. Seated promptly, staff was attentive, though it was so noisy we had trouble hearing each other. We each ordered a pasta dish, comparing notes most of us found them rather heavy, bland and similar-tasting. Don't know how else to describe it, but we all found the entrees OK but disappointing. The... More

There are many good Italian restaurants in Portland. This is one of my favorites. The polenta and meatballs (side dishes) are spectacular.

We visited Iorio last night for the first time in many years. It's a cute place with friendly service. My husband had the slow cooked pork with roasted vegetables over polenta. It was very good - the veggies were very flavorful, the pork was moist and the balsamic glaze drizzle was a great accent flavor. I unfortunately ordered the wild... More

This is a very nice family run dinner spot in the inner Hawthorne neighborhood that should not be missed. The calamari appetizer is a real treat and the portion size is large enough for four to share. They make their own pasta fresh and both of our pasta dishes were great. You can easily share a dish since the portion... More

We'll definitely return. We enjoyed a nice dinner here on a Sunday evening. It started to fill up and get lively about 6:30 or so. The atmosphere was complimented by the live classical guitar music and the great staff. They have a great kids' menu and it was nice to have families with kids there in addition to adults of... Our party of 6 adults and one toddler had a wonderful evening here on Sunday. The service was friendly and attentive, the menu was very nice and offered gluten free options needed by some in our party, and a nice bit of music played by a gentleman on a guitar played softly in the background. it's a tad on the...
