When you dine at Mama Mia Trattoria, Portland's Italian tradition, you've taken a step back in time into a traditional Italian kitchen where memories come to life with authentic southern Italian meals and the genuine hospitality of people who love delicious and genuine Italian dishes. At Mama Mia Trattoria our meals are prepared from scratch every day, with only the freshest ingredients. Our sauces and meatballs simmer all day to add the perfect flavor and essence to our expertly crafted dishes. We are committed to providing the highest quality food and service by sparing no expense and by using only the best local products and sustainable resources available. Here at Mama Mia Trattoria, we take pride in our daily, freshly made pastas, mozzarella cheese, and our scrumptious homemade desserts. We even make our Italian ice cream and sorbet daily. At Mama Mia Trattoria, you'll find timeless favorites like chicken, veal, and eggplant parmigiana, handmade ravioli, lasagna, manicotti, gnocchi and countless other pastas, pizzas, chicken and seafood dishes, all made from scratch and cooked to perfection. Our dining room sparkles with over twenty crystal chandeliers and nearly fifty gilded mirrors. Our marble tables are reminiscent of those found in many Trattorias throughout Italy. With our dramatically tall ceilings, an entire wall of fourteen-foot tall windows, keep the dining room lively yet mysterious. The warm ambiance of rich red, green, gold and black decor beckons diners to relax and savor the brilliant flavors of Italian cooking served in a luxurious yet Portland-esque casual atmosphere. The rich, black granite bar is a perfect spot for one of our delicious signature cocktails, many made with our own house-infused spirits. Both the sixty-inch and forty-inch high-definition televisions are the perfect place to watch your favorite sporting events while you sit back and relax. Our entire food menu is served throughout the day at the most comfortable bar in downtown Portland. Our location, the historic Waldo Building, built in 1886, is easily visible on one of the most traveled corners in Downtown Portland at the intersection of SW Washington Street and 2nd Avenue, just feet away from great shopping at Pioneer Place, the waterfront, mass transit and some of the most visited attractions in downtown. So plan something special and meet your friends, family, and colleagues at Mama Mia Trattoria. Our old school Italian-American soul food, like that offered at the best restaurants in "Little Italy's" across the United States, will exceed your expectations. Happy Hour: Monday - Saturday: 04:00pm - 07:00pm Sunday: 04:00pm - 09:00pm

Very good, quite reasonable

I've lived in Italy and really enjoy Italian food. Mamm MIA is not a replica of Camillo's in Florence but they get real Italian dishes right, they are sufficiently Portland-informal, great central downtown location and very reasonably priced. This isn't "wow, the best meal I've ever had" but... read more

Found this place a number of years ago. Having great memories, found it again last week with my boyfriend. We walked from the Paramount Hotel --- 8 short blocks --- and it was well worth the walk. Josh the bartender served excellent cocktails; dinner followed. Again, a memorable experience --- tasty Italian food, attentive service, and smiles all around. We... More

Wouldn't drive out of my way to go here, though it's a good enough spot if you happen to be in downtown Portland. Having heard about this place for a couple of years, we did drive into town from the burbs to try. Best part was the owner, who was attentive beyond belief as we waited for a table, having... More

My husband and I were looking for a new breakfast spot so we thought we would try this spot. We will not return. The service was extremely slow. I ordered eggs Benedict, my husband the French toast. My Benedict was served on tasteless scones that were dense and heavy. I removed them from my plate and took them to the... More

Went here for March dining month especially to try the Cioppino they were offering. Average flavor, still trying to find the best in Portland. The Chocolate Torte w/ raspberry was really good though for dessert. Still had a great time w/ friends and a great value for the experience.

The best french toast in town. Beautiful restaurant and great service. I'd go every Sunday if I could!

During my latest trip to Portland, I enjoyed this restaurant so much I ate there twice. Awesome garlic bread that you gotta have. Entires were great, well portioned, and not over priced. Great service and check out their happy hour special menu. Drink specials and a small plate menu that is outstanding and super reasonably priced. Can't wait to visit... More

Knew better then to ask for a salad sans the anchovies, but the meatball I had was just soggy on the outer part and hard on the inner. A circumstance that can only attributed to sloppy preparation. The same can be said for the veal parm. It is ample at 1 1/2 to 2 portions on your plate but it... More

I had heard mixed reviews about Mama Mia's so finally tried it. Once for takeout and once to meet a friend for lunch inside. Both times the food was ok, nothing fantastic and I haven't been back since. The first time I ordered online and since I was a first time customer I was promised a discount but when I... More
