Good Friday Night Experience

Friends from Portland took us here during our recent visit. The house brews were tasty and satisfying, and the food was very good. We had "Whiskey Wings" for an appetizer and washed them down with Kells IPA - a good combo. I enjoyed the Irish lamb stew while our friends had the cod & chips. I... read more

This is a great place to go for beer or more-bracing spirits and pub fare, It's a lovely old building, and the atmosphere is warming to the soul on an Oregonian Winter evening.. The shepherd's pie is one of the best I've had anywhere, and the staff make you feel welcome quickly. Prices are certainly reasonable. Definitely go here.

Dinner time. This places wasn't too bad. Everything was normal...if you've had pub food before it was same old same old. The salmon may have been over cooked, but still delicious. The price was spot on. The atmosphere was average and the service was great.

I'm a bit late making his report but the experience(s) is still in my mind. It is located downtown Portland which on a Sunday is no real effort or problem getting there or finding parking. I suspect this might be more of a challenge during the week? There 3 adults and 2 young children. The wait staff was prompt, courteous... More

Came for a beer with colleagues and had a great time. The service staff was friendly and lighthearted. The beer was cold and good. There was live music playing which really loosened up the crowd. One of the traditions of the restaurant is to offer the server a dollar to place on the ceiling. It wasn't quite obvious to us... More

Roamed about town soaking up the Christmas lights and decorations, then stopped by Kells for a drink and appetizers. Ordered off the Happy Hour menu and enjoyed Kells Irish nachos and the Gorgonzola spread, along with a few beers. The pub's atmosphere is always welcoming, the appetizers were tasty, and their locally brewed Irish stout was outstanding. Will continue to... More

Went here with a few colleagues on a business trip. The food was great as well as the service. I've never heard of the Pasty until I came here but it was excellent. I would definitely recommend trying this place.
