Having grown up on New York City pizza, I can tell you that this guy took the recipe with him when he escaped. Really good if you like thin, but not Neapolitan thin, cheesy pizza with just the right amount of sauce. Would have liked to see a slice with tons of veggies but I guess I could have custom... More

Great pizza and the most reasonably priced for a family of six! Delicious thinner crust pizza. We had pepperoni, sausage, mushroom and onion. 25 cent refills on soda. Not a fancy place. Order at the counter and find a seat either at the small counter inside or at two outside tables. Best pizza I've had in a long while!

Rolled into Portland and were starving. A local pointed us to Escape From New York Pizza because they were open late and we got a couple slices, a caesar salad and some drinks. Very satisfying and cheap! Quick too.

While this is a small place, children and I found their pizza to be delicious! Hopping busy place with great selection of beverages for kids and adults, with special note on the local, tasty beers that were offered. Children enjoyed the pizza making in the front window. Not a full sit down restaurant, older place but was recommended by friends.... More

Pepperoni pizza was thin, greasy and tasty. Service was a little rude and restaurant could use a cleaning. Value was average. Next time I will try a different pizza place.

I've been eating their pizza since the early Eighties and it has always been excellent. I believe they were the first pizza by the slice in Portland. This is a pizza joint. It isn't fancy, but they do what they do exceptionally well. It is quite good by the slice, but it is truly outstanding if you get a whole... More

My boyfriend and I found this whilst wandering near our hotel (INN at Northrup Station ****). What a find, the best pizza of our whole holiday. Recommend it.

I've never been to New York, but this place would be as I would imagine a New York pizza place to be decorated. Seating is all deli or bar style. If you are with a group, this place will not work for you if you want to do any socializing at all. It's very informal and if you aren't a... More
