Was disappointed. Older lady waitress was very distracted and food was just ok. We sat by back door, in a room that was an after thought.
Solid beer line-up. Cozy tables. Dark wood and walls covered with stuff. Better than average food for a pub. Great place to hang on a typical drizzled Portland day. Outside deck is nice but the ambience of Max makes for less than stellar tones. Inside is better. Tough to find parking so consider that Max train or walking. In a... More
Cool little place. Came here before a Timbers game. The atmosphere was perfect for us. I kept reading reviews about over crowded bars near the field that take 40 minutes to get a drink pregame. Here the service was attentive, friendly and atmosphere was interesting and quirky. Good beer menu to choose from, and there was a nice mix of... More
It was a bit of a search and stretch for the four of us but Goose Hollow was found. Parking is iffy but we came late mid week for lunch and what a find. They have a delightful array of beers available with names that boggle the imagination. The Hop Lava served ice cold was a super star winner. Each... More
Goose Hollow Inn is a great place for lunch or dinner. I think you could call it "pub food". There are lots of sandwich combinations to choose from and of course, lots of beer. It's a very casual place and was very comfortable. My husband said that it was the best Ruben he's ever had. The service was very good... More
I live in Forest Grove. Most of my friends and colleagues are in Portland. I suggested Goose Hollow as a place to meet with fellow committee members, just because I'd seen it at the first Max stop inside of Portland coming from the West. We liked it so much that we're all having regular meetings there now. Good beer selection,... More
You just have to visit this place at least once. There is some fun history associated with it. The food is good (not great) the prices are ok. You will like it.
I stumbled in here by accident the first time and have been back many times since. I love reubens, but don't eat pigs and cows, so their turkey reuben is perfect for me. The staff is efficient and fun, and there is always a friendly, interesting crowd. It's not a big place but there is lovely outdoor seating that is... More
It's a local neighborhood tavern. Kind of run down. Owned by a former Mayor of Portland. Plenty of beers and pizza. However, the highlight is the Rueben Sandwich. Nothing healthy about it.
The food was ok, just standard pub food. They don't have french fries at all which was kind of strange, so the sandwiches come with potato salad instead. The service was severely lacking. After we sat ourselves at a table it took a good 10 minutes for anyone to approach us. We only saw our server once the entire time... More
