Landmark pub with great Reuben sandwiches

Remember Portland Mayor Bud Clark? His famous 1978 poster, "Expose Yourself to Art" with him featured flashing a statue was a best seller. He did a lot of great things for Portland including expanding mass transit and working on the problems of homeless people. The Bud Clark Commons is a permanent... read more

Touted as "Best Reuben on the planet" on their website. I just had to go, me being the Reuben snob that I am. Best Reuben on the Planet? I don't think so. Don't get me wrong, though. It was very good. But the best on the planet? Not even close, not by a long shot. For the best, you have... More

Fun place to eat, friendly helpful service, great Reuben sandwich located right off a Max stop so you don't have to drive, although they do have a small parking lot.

The Rueben sandwich with wonderful potato salad and a crisp dill pickle is at the top of my favorites at "The Goose". On Tuesday they serve seafood salads (Crab, shrimp or a combo) that are stupendous! Cost is in line with what you would pay anywhere else for similar fare, but quality is better here. YUM!!

A nice neighborhood restaurant/bar that serves up the best potato salad in the world. If you are looking for a blue jeans atmosphere, an outside deck, very friendly servers, a good menu at a fair price this is the place. Parking is a tad difficult so allow yourself time to search. The ruben is not bad.

Was disappointed. Older lady waitress was very distracted and food was just ok. We sat by back door, in a room that was an after thought.

Solid beer line-up. Cozy tables. Dark wood and walls covered with stuff. Better than average food for a pub. Great place to hang on a typical drizzled Portland day. Outside deck is nice but the ambience of Max makes for less than stellar tones. Inside is better. Tough to find parking so consider that Max train or walking. In a... More

Cool little place. Came here before a Timbers game. The atmosphere was perfect for us. I kept reading reviews about over crowded bars near the field that take 40 minutes to get a drink pregame. Here the service was attentive, friendly and atmosphere was interesting and quirky. Good beer menu to choose from, and there was a nice mix of... More

It was a bit of a search and stretch for the four of us but Goose Hollow was found. Parking is iffy but we came late mid week for lunch and what a find. They have a delightful array of beers available with names that boggle the imagination. The Hop Lava served ice cold was a super star winner. Each... More

Goose Hollow Inn is a great place for lunch or dinner. I think you could call it "pub food". There are lots of sandwich combinations to choose from and of course, lots of beer. It's a very casual place and was very comfortable. My husband said that it was the best Ruben he's ever had. The service was very good... More
