Good atmosphere, good food

This is a little niche bar. The atmosphere is very laid back. They have a decent variety of beer and wine. Staff was friendly and attentive. The food was good. Mostly sandwiches, but very good ones. My husband had the Reuben and I had the turkey dip. Most of their sandwiches can get a gluten free... read more

Goose Hollow is one of those places you have to go if you like good Reuben's-the other food is probably good too, I don't really know because I always get the Reuben, and I suggest that for you too. This place has been around for a long time and you cant go wrong. Oh ya and great micro brews too.

I don't like sauerkraut at all. However, you can't taste it on this Rueben. Awesome atmosphere, excellent food (though I've had nothing except the Rueben all 6 times). Love this place! Well worth the money.

I go here when I have the time to enjoy the atmosphere. Love the Rachel's Ruben-it was what I craved when I was expecting our second child. It also helps me avoid fries since they don't have a deep frier.

Going to this restaurant was part of day's adventure, and really capped it off well. We had a large group and the restaurant was so very accommodating to us, even when our planned arrival (we had made reservations) was greatly delayed. The service was A plus plus in that respect. We couldn't say enough thanks for that. Everyone enjoyed the... More

Mom, pop and son shop that says they serve the world's best ruben. I watched them make many and it looked like a fine meal for a lumberjack. I'll be back when I'm starving. I enjoyed sitting at the bar with a cool beverage and chatting with the family after a tour of Washington Park

This neighborhood pub in Portland, Oregon is a cozy place with good beer, good drinks and great food! I had their famous Reuben sandwich and it was messy and melted-cheesy and oh so good! My friend had the Turkey dip and said it was excellent. The service was very nice, and very attentive. I will go back to this place... More

Have been regular Reuben fan and continually bragged to friends that this was the place! Well, I finally was able to introduce some friends to a Goose Hollow Reuben but wow what a first time disappointment. It was only a few months ago that I had a typical tasty Reuben but this last visit I believe they forgot to put... More

Remember Portland Mayor Bud Clark? His famous 1978 poster, "Expose Yourself to Art" with him featured flashing a statue was a best seller. He did a lot of great things for Portland including expanding mass transit and working on the problems of homeless people. The Bud Clark Commons is a permanent building for people transitioning from homelessness back into the... More

Touted as "Best Reuben on the planet" on their website. I just had to go, me being the Reuben snob that I am. Best Reuben on the Planet? I don't think so. Don't get me wrong, though. It was very good. But the best on the planet? Not even close, not by a long shot. For the best, you have... More
