I have been eating at Grand Central Bakery for years. And I have never been disappointed in their sandwiches or their sweet treats. My favorite sandwich is the turkey/chutney. But their seasonal specials are always good. But do save room for one of their cookies. I cannot always find a good bakery at the coast; therefore, I like to "stock-up"... More

Our first visit to the SE 13th st. store was great. My wife got a very good tuna salad sandwich and I tried their Monkey Muffins (delicious.) We're going back tomorrow or the next day. If I lived in Portland, I'd spend way too much time and money at this bakery.

I visited this place when I was going through the neighborhood. I have a wicked sweet tooth but very discriminating, so not every sweet gets the thumbs up. The manager offered me a treat of my choice on the house..saying that he was sure I would be back after I ate it. All I can say is that he was... More

Stopped by for lunch. Get a sandwich on their fresh bread. You'll enjoy it. Nothing to jump up and down about, but good. If the line is really long, I don't know if it's good enough to wait too long for. Also, not expensive, but about a good dollar a sandwich more than it should cost.

Amazing biscuits, house-made pork sausage, farm fresh eggs, & Americanos! Killer tomato chutney & raspberry jam to go with super friendly Portland smiles! Loved it.

We were in Portland staying with some local friends and on our nice walk down to Oaks Park stopped at the Sellwood location. The night before we'd had bread, whole wheat Goldendale and a baguette...excellent. Today we got sweet stuff: a bread pudding muffin, some triple chocolate and oatmeal raisin cookies and a maple bar danish. All got "really good!"... More

Multnomah Village has a good share of truly excellent places for breakfast and lunch. The Grand Central Bakery is one with its selection of rolls, honeybuns, soup and sandwiches. We often go just to buy bread, especially the olive bread. They have very limited parking and it is not easy to get in and out. Park down next to John's... More

Staff were very pleasant and the place was clean. The sandwich bread was soft and fresh, the fixings pretty good albeit sparse, they were out of cinnamon buns and pumpkin muffins (it was only 11am), the almond croissant was not so good (considering price of 3.50) as they cut the croissant in half and spread almond paste on the bread).... We've eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. They offer a pretty good variety of sandwiches as well as breakfast items (although we've not tried them), also have salads, quiche. We were disappointed as the last time there they had run out of two items we wanted, but..... .. The bread is wonderful, the sandwich fillings are fresh... More

Great coffee to go with either breakfast offerings of that for lunch. There are always new ideas in beads and or baked goods that one must have or take home. Always a line and always good. Just another one of those must return soon kind of place.
