I went for an early dinner. The waiter recommended their specialties, like pot roast, meatloaf, and roasted chicken. I opted for the latter. It was OK. The mashed potatoes were bland, but the green beans were cooked to perfection. The breads were dry. I was disappointed with the dessert: homemade sorbet. It was blah. The restaurant itself was beautifully designed,... More

Dined with a part of four and we all agreed the best breakfast in Portland. It is worth the wait. French Press coffee excellent, and each person order ordered a different selection and everyone was impressed. I can't do Dairy so the removed the dairy and added in Spinach to my egg scramble, a must is the Apple Sausage. Had... More

There are many places to go for coffee in Portland. But if you are looking for a quiet place to chat and enjoy a good cup of coffee this is the place. The large french press will give you about 4 cups.

Came for breakfast while visiting our daughter. She really likes the place and so did we. Food was delicious, bloody mary's and mimosa's wonderful! Service was great. It was a Tues. so we did not have a wait to get in. We will return!

I always enjoy this little gem in Portland. It's great for a Sunday brunch - but I recommend reservations or getting there early. All the food is good and "comfort" style. Good for families. Worth the wait!

I've seen this restaurant many times, but had never made it in, until a friend and I went in on a Saturday night, it was good to make a reservation, even for 8pm, maybe because it was a weekend, but space seemed very crowded, even very tight, so it was hard to hear or have an intimate conversation with my... Totally fun, filling breakfast at Mother's. Husband had the daily special omelet (can't tell you what was in it, but it was garnished with a mustard sour cream!). Kids had pancakes with an assortment of fruit and chocolate chips. I had 2 eggs poached with ham. Wowza - go with an appetite. The breakfast potatoes are out of this world.

I had the brie omlet special and it was delicious. We returned for breakfast the next day. We came at 8:00 am and there was no wait. The hot chocolate and rocky road brownies were fantastic. The decor is super cute with exposed brick, old hardwood floors and beautiful chandaliers.

Mother's offers a good variety of entrees that should please just about anybody. Breakfast items are fairly standard - I mean, how many ways can you prepare eggs? I'm a fan of the cheeseburger. And the dessert selections are awesome. I like the fresh and locally sourced aspect of the ingredients. Very popular on weekend mornings - get there early.
