I have not been to this restaurant since it was bought by a chain. Back then the food was very good and to my surprise it was still good. The bar has changed and it is not as big as it once was. I had the blackened rock fish and my wife had the Salmon. They were both cook correctly... read more

A group of 4 came for brunch. Each month we try someplace new for Sunday brunch. Being old fans of the original Jakes, we expected to be pleased. The two gourmet lunch salads were swimming in oil and left one guest sick. The Reuben sandwich was dry & flavorless. If there was sauce one could not taste it. Even the... More

The food was fine and acceptable, crab cocktail and fish and chips, actually pretty good. The Irish coffee after was poor, tepid and tasteless. The waiter asked about my reticence to drink it and I explained. Next came the manager and she insisted on having another made with espresso and it was fine. Well done Jake's.

Going to Jake's over the years to really feast on their Calamari! It has changed a bit over the last few years, but still a "must" for us when we are in Portland OR. You can be casually dressed or dressed up, you will fit right in. Jake's has a lovely interior with lots of dark wood and the feel... More

Quintessential Portland Bar and Restaurant, specializing in Seafood. Different menu printed daily. Great ambience and wonderful Blackened Salmon Salad. Service was slow.

Party of 6 for a business dinner. Service was attentive, although the food was maybe a little slow in arriving. All the entrees were good. I had a stuffed salmon which was excellent.

We recently went here for breakfast and were seated quickly and had great service. Breakfast biscuits were fresh and warm. Our other meals were average with the food being a bit lukewarm. All in all a good experience for quick seating and service.

I had a couple of hours to waste. Starbucks, across the street and part of the Portland Target complex, looked downscale, too public, uncomfortable, like a train station waiting room. I saw Jakes Grill's welcoming awning, heard some of the inside music spilling outside. I ventured inside the lovely old building to an expansive room with a beautiful grand bar.... More

I love a restaurant that takes the time to make things special for the diner. My hubby made the reservations and told them it was our anniversary... we received a personalized menu with our name and the event. I believe every employee. Wait staff, bus boy etc., wished us happy anniversary. The food as always was goof with a very... More
