Stumbled across this historical place and decided to have a drink. The bar is old fashion.. great pictures on the wall. Menu was very impressive. We had an assortment of fresh oysters and probably the best tomato/basil soup with a Whiskey Sour chaser. Enjoy!

Had lunch here with a few friends. Came for the oysters. The place is pretty pricy, and the food is decent, but nothing special. I think I enjoyed their crab bisque and house salad more than everything else I tried. I agree with some of the other reviews: average service, average food, and a bit pricy

Our favorite restaurant when we lived in Portland and now that it's an hour away makes it even more special. This is what your favorite place should look like, excellent service, food, and atmosphere! Reservations for quicker seating is always a good idea however if you just show up - you can eat or wait in the bar - an... More

Our group of 4 went to Jake's one Friday night around 7pm. We had reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of it. Having dined at several M&S restaurants, I expected high quality but our experience didn't meet the mark. I'd love to give higher marks but the restaurant fell flat. First, much of the seafood was not local nor... More

I had different expectations since I thought you could just order a whole Dungeness crab, like you eat a lobster. We received menus and at the it said HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It didn't click that it was especially for me! When you're having a birthday they are on it. And the desserts were exceptional. The banana cream pie seemed sliced for... More

Jake's has been around for some hundred years. We thought it was dated and only ordinary. We had salmon and a Cobb salad. There are so many restaurants in Portland that are spectacular, we suggest you try someplace else.

Jake's is the kind of "fancy" restaurant I can see my parents going to in the early 70s for a good steak or a lobster tail. It's a kind of experience that's not as common in 2015, and we really enjoyed it. We ordered 6 or 7 appetizers and a few bottles of wine, and we had a blast sharing... More

We always try to eat at Jake's when we are in Portland. This classic old seafood house has tiled floors, and great wood bar, and white table cloths. The fresh seafood sheet is extensive, and there is a great beer and wine selection. The wait staff is formally dressed, knows the menu well, and very attentive. This is a must... More

Found this place on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. This historic restaurant lived up to expectations! The only negative to this place was the price of dishes...a little high, but for the great food, service and ambiance it was worth the visit. We tried the oysters and found the Kumiai and Brookside were full of flavor.... More

We asked our hotel to make us a reservation, and they must have mentioned that it was our anniversary because we arrived and were greeted with personalized printed menus wishing us a happy anniversary and crab cakes on the house. The service, decor, drinks, food and location were all amazing. Highly recommend the white sangria and the bacon wrapped crab... More
