The chunky salsa and chips were excellent. The rest of the order was average US-style Mexican. Food prices weren't too bad but at $8.50 a glass, the Margaritas did not get a refill. Both my nieces seemed to enjoy the Butternut Squash Enchilada, a dish I haven't seen on too many menus.

This is a favorite spot with some of my clients so I have had the opportunity to eat here several times. I have had something different every time and have never been disappointed. The service is terrific and the spicy salsa is very tasty!

This isn't Mexico and it ain't Taco Bell, but you get decent food at reasonable prices. There's a long menu, which means some things are likely to be better than others, but this place is popular for a reason. If you're not a Mexican food snob (an oxymoron if I've ever heard one), you're likely to find something you like.... More

Why the place is popular I don't know. My chile verda burrito was tender and tasty, but the rice was very unpleasant tasting (too much cumin). The black beans were covered in too much cheese. No one at our table wanted to eat the medium or hot salsas because of the poor flavor (no flavors came through except cumin). We... More

We have been going to this place for years now and have never had a bad meal. We have tried most items on the menu and have always enjoyed them. Look for the daily specials as they are always special. They have a great bar with a wide selection. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. They do... More

I had dinner on early Saturday evening. I haven't been to the Iron Horse for many years. I was glad to see the restaurant in operation and the food was great.

The service was good and the people were friendly, but the food is simply sub-par. Bland and boring, my fish tacos needed a lot of condiments to make it worth eating. Even the beans, rice, and medium salsa were flavorless. In the past I have really enjoyed the meals, but recently it has become too inconsistent.

Billed as a Mexican Restaurant so tried some standards like enchiladas. They were ok but nothing to write back to Texas about. On a return trip we tried a Special and the Chili Verde Bowl. OMG they were delicious. We have since become regulars and Mark and staff treat us great. Stick with marvelous specials and Salvadoran dishes and you... More

Met up with some old friends for happy hour with my wife and daughter and had a great time. They make their own salsa's and come in three different heat ranges to suit every taste. Good selection of draft beers and one of my favorites Dos XX. Happy hour is just $3.50 for import and micro and $2.50 for domestic... More

In Portland, our son recommended The Iron Horse for dinner. He goes often and we found it to be far better than the Tex-Mex places we find all over the place. The food was very fresh delicious. The Margaritas were excellent, and the service was prompt, pleasant and efficient. Like many of the restaurants in Portland there were organic options... More
