I'm not a breakfast person, but I love this place.

My family lives in Portland & I always try to get to this place when I'm in town. I don't eat eggs. so many breakfast places don't offer much for me. There's lot of variety here. Everything is fresh & the maple syrup is the real deal.

Definitely a breakfast type place. All pancakes about $10.50. Seemed high for what you get. My wife thought it was a different restaurant or wouldn't have eaten there. Pancakes, blueberry and buttermilk were very good. Service ok. They have omelette so too. Juice was $3.50-$5 or so also high.

This place is just cute! The waitresses are wearing pink aprons and ponytails. Like eating at your grandma's in 1954. Good food, friendly people, sweet little pancake house.

I have eaten here several times and each time my food was superb and tasty. The omelets are perfect and huge! Crepes are lemony and decadent. This place had been here forever, is easy to find, and had pretty decent parking. Love this place

I just read the review called "the way it's supposed to be" and I don't know if he is correct about this being "the original" but I'll take his word for it. In any case, that explains why we waited nearly an hour for a table on a Saturday mid-morning. It was worth the experience. I didn't expect the food... More

I was surprised to see the Original Pancake House on the America's Classics list since I see it in so many cities and always viewed it as "just another chain", but this is the original, family owned location (the others are franchises). We showed up at around 1 pm on a Sunday and there was about a ten minute wait.... More

This is the "Original" of the now chain franchise called the "Original Pancake House." It is an actual house (or once was). The food is pure quality, through and through. Home made, carefully thought out, tested over the years. That the food is good is testified to by the fact that the bow not quite 100 or so places franchised... More

Of course, breakfast is my very favorite meal. And The Original Pancake House never fails to put a smile on my face and a happy feeling in my tummy. So many choice of pancakes. I want to try them all. One friend loves the waffles and another prefers the corned beef hash with eggs and potato pancakes. The apple pancake... More

We've gone to other locations of Original Pancake House, but never to this "first" one. The same menu with wonderful choices... absolutely delicious food. Our favorites are the cherry crepes, forty-niner flapjacks, and their to-die-for bacon. This location, however, is much smaller and cramped. And their parking lot is very tight. It tends to be very crowded.

Oh my! That says it all. I have been coming to the Original Pancake House for years. I love their fresh fruit crepes. But my friend had the fresh fruit waffle and raved about the flavor. In the winter, I order their pecan waffle with a lemon syrup. WOW. But also their chocolate chip pancakes are the best, if you... More
