I sat at the bar which had a rather large self seating area with full menu. The sangria was excellent as was the paella. $$$

The food was just O.K. I had the paella, and it was fine but not outstanding. My dining companions had fish dishes, and they felt as I did that the food was not memorable. A major problem is that the restaurant is loud, especially in the bar area. We had a reservation for 7 PM, but had to wait for... More

Had dinner on a Saturday evening. Surprisingly, reservation was easy to get. There were a few interesting items on the menu, including a table-side guacamole. At $18, it's not cheap, but it was fun to watch the waiter make the dip, and the whole family enjoyed it. Also ordered the calamari, which was decent, but not special. For entree, I... More

We stopped at Oba after deciding not to stay at a restaurant nearby. We had heard good things about Oba. We sat outside unfortunately near a table of obnoxious think they're still in high school or college people. This contributed to our server not taking good care of us as she was also their server. We ordered some okay drinks... More

Sat at the bar and the two bartenders were great and attentive. While there weren't a lot at the bar, it didn't matter. I watched as everyone got attention. They made a drink to my specifications (their signature cocktail with a twist). The food was tasty and worth returning for.

We were in Portland for the first time and wanted to enjoy some of the good food that Portland is known for. This restaurant was a good overall experience. It is pretty large, with an upscale feel; lighting was low; modern decor with darker wood and with maybe an Asian aesthetic. There was some outdoor seating out on the sidewalk... More

Oba is a very nice tapas restaurant in the Pearl District. Food was very interesting, well prepared and presented. I enjoyed the paella. It was a friday night, so it was pretty crowded and somewhat noisy. But overall, a good experience.

First...make a reservation. From what I could tell, if we hadn't made a reservation we wouldn't have been seated. The tableside guacamole is wonderful. I ordered off of the app menu, to get more of a cross section of their foods. A foodies delight!

Admittedly, Oba was second choice after Andina (couldn't get in when we needed to). However, the food was equal, and the service far better. Despite some very interesting menu options, I chose paella, which was one of the best I have ever had. It was slightly different than traditional, less rice, full of meat and shellfish, perfectly sauced. My wife's... More

This was my first time to OBA. It seems to be a Latin style restaurant with an Argentina flair. The ambience is well laid out and many young as well as middle aged individual are present. So there is something for everyone. From the hostess to the server, all were very friendly and wore smiles throughout the dining experience. Employee... More
