Oba is in the Pearl District. I thought the decor was innovative with the interior space artfully separated into dining sections and with bold colours on the wall. We were sat in a booth for four which did us fine. This is a great date night destination. Dressing up would feel so right here. The server was pleasant but personally... More

What a gem! Friend recommended this place and boy were they right. Wonderful wine, great food, and attentive service. I had scallops that were perfectly prepared and super fresh. This place impresses!

We were treated very well from the moment we walked in to the time we left. The staff was efficient and on top of all of our needs. The wine we chose was not the greatest and the owner came over, removed it and suggested a bottle that was fantastic. The many tapas allowed us to sample more dishes and... More

We visited this restaurant for the first time and were truly happy we did. Being a vegetarian I was somewhat hesitant but soon was so happy to find great choices with unbelievable balanced favors. The food was fresh, pleasing to the eye and taste buds equally! Great wines and great service too. Good job Oba, we will be back.

Enjoyed the happy hour menu with a girlfriend. The service was great, food was fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes bursts of flavor with a little kick (but the bacon wrapped jalapenos have a hulk of a kick). We will definitely be going back!

My friends and I had a very short stay in Portland, and one thing we knew about Portland was that it's famous for it's food and beer. As far as food, this restaurant did not disappoint. We ordered a variety of dishes on the Tapas menu and none of us said a word except, pass this or pass that. The... More

For being in the Pearl, one would expect to be overpriced, underserved, and underwhelming like most of infatuated Portland's restaurants - Yes, I love Oregon, but life gave a chance to eat in some of the best/better places in the world, so indeed and for most part, Portland disapoints a lot, mostly regarding italian cuisine. But this one is a... More

Well, this review must start with sadness...I visited Portland as the start of a west coast adventure. Before leaving for the trip, I carefully chose what I would consider a pinnacle meal for the trip by sifting through options in all cities i'd be visiting. I decided on Oba as my "this is it" meal. Now the sad part...day plans... More

I sat at the bar which had a rather large self seating area with full menu. The sangria was excellent as was the paella. $$$

The food was just O.K. I had the paella, and it was fine but not outstanding. My dining companions had fish dishes, and they felt as I did that the food was not memorable. A major problem is that the restaurant is loud, especially in the bar area. We had a reservation for 7 PM, but had to wait for... More
